Reviews for "Sonic X: Cosmic Chase"

meh

animation bad quality was ok BUT character design TOTALLY SUCK big heads and small bodies weird eyes....and history suck too and i mean really suck probably someone who give 10 to this flash has never seen nazo series before, the animation is like 15 mins? i dont know but remember Quality>Quantity thats the key for being a good flash movie

Eh.

I never actually remembered waiting 4 years, sure, I watched a trailer, but never seemed to actually care. However, animation, body form, and just plain quality just seemed to be better in the trailer and in some other works as well.

No voices? Not even subtitles? That was an issue. It was hard to understand anything at all. Not to mention the story seemed weak, and the only hint at story was the brief synopsis that works only when there's speaking or at least read roles within the animation. Have you seen Super Mario Bros. Z? There are actual voice clips taken from the games, short words, grunts, that are played along with the animation. I did also notice a lack of sound effects. Sound effects, and sound as a whole that is separated from the shredding guitar in the background adds completeness and wholeness to the animation.

Where animation is concerned, Knuckles was the worst drawn and animated in this film, and that's horrible since he's my favorite character. It looked like it was pulled out of Sonic: Uncut, a joke series that isn't so beautifully animated nor tries to be. I see you did work hard on things like the Egg-o-matic, which was done beautifully, but certain things like the lines on Eggman's coat had depth issues that confused your eyes.

I don't really understand what all this hype is about, but I do understand the amount of mixed reviews you'd probably get. This thing confuses me, it doesn't actually work out in my opinion. Maybe if you revisited it, or you redid it, some light would appear at the end of the tunnel, but for now, there's a giant boulder blocking the way.

im.... honestly disappointed

the animation was nice, a bit ruff at first, but i could see the improvements near the end. the lack of voices was kinda sad, even voice clips from the actual games would have been nice. over all, the main fact is we waited 4 YEARS for that?

Definately a good flash for what it is

And yet... for starters, something like this should not have taken 4 (or 7 if you started back as early as 2003) years to accomplish, even for one person working on it. While the animation itself has skill, it seems to try to take the place of good choreography. Near the beginning of the flash, with the 3D building effect, is one of them. The CHOICES of movement just dont feel like they follow a natural course, and instead the entire flash tries to depend entirely on how smoothly animated the unnatural movement is. Another example would be when Sonic is hanging off of that bar, and Shadow blows the area he's hanging onto apart. During the beginning of the attack, Shadow looks somewhat strained in pulling it off, then suddenly right at the end his entire body looks relaxed and he's just smirking like it's nothing. It just doesnt flow right, and feels unnatural. For future animating attempts, try to keep stuff like that in mind. If you can storyboard the whole thing before trying to animate it, that helps greatly. It also helps to pick out unnatural progression of movement.

Well, that was long, but I hope you'll look at this as me trying to help and not me trying to insult you.

Hmm

Man, I wanted to hate this flash. It starts so poorly, the premise of Sonic and Shadow fighting is so simple and uninteresting, and your animating was okay but not brilliant.

25 minutes later, here I still am. It's clear that this flash took so ridiculously long to make that animating skill multiplied threefold through the production history of this flash.

The story is still very simple, but I like how it pans out, even though it is ridiculous, with Tails' plane flying into space, everyone breathing in a vacuum, Amy's tears being more powerful than all 7 chaos emeralds put together, and so on.

So yeah, started poorly, but for those with patience, this is a very heartfelt Sonic tribute.

Also, Blessing, I love your review. That's exactly what happened. You are a king.
