Reviews for "The Illusionist's Dream"

Awful controls

It seems like you're punishing the player with tese ridiculous jumps.

Poor hit detection

I don't care how deep this game is supposed to be, it doesn't make the gameplay any less frustrating.

MESSED THE HELL UP!!!

What the heck?!? This guy is going around and in the first few levels it seems like hes coming to grips with everything, which is fine. But the all of a sudden he goes to some messed up vineyard and then to hell where he kills himself?!? That is messed up. Its like saying "Oh yeah the person you love is dead, you can kill yourself". Thats not how life works. Something happens and your sad for a while, maybe you have to be on antideppressents but you dont kill yourself. Life goes on people, love is all around. You can live through it.

Mindblowing

The controls are a bit frustrating. But I found you get used to them, and the reviewers bellow just really suck at controls. But can I talk? I can use the mouse button and arrow keys at the same time. Guess I should shut up.

Anyway, this game was absolutely beautiful. Such sadness, beautiful descriptions. I loved the lines across the screen that read this "For you to appreciate my presence... You must let me go." That struck me pretty hardcore. My whole life, I have lived with being abandoned.

Directing a magical performer, who has no will at all to live to find the key and keep moving. Keep surviving. Keep going. But once you face the demons, what was the point of all of this? Why did you come this far just for a key? Their was no point, and once I realised that the words came on the screen. "Do you really need that key?"

Once again, that struck me. I didn't need the key. I didn't need to continue going. The only reason I was here today, the only reason I continued living. Was for that key, to see what lied beneath that mysterious door. I have faced my fears by risking death when I jumped to platforms and risking being eaten by other animals, I faced my demons.

I did what I was meant to do. I had no more purpose of continuing. So I jumped off the platform and the world turned black. I had done what I needed and had to do, and I felt bittersweet.

Call this a long ass bad review, but this game is so beautiful and has touched me in so many ways. I think people may be angered how my review is so long, but please understand.

Fitting Music

I loved this game, however certain hit boxes with the flames were a bit off, as I would sometime just explode when I was close. Also I didn't exactly like the abrupt ending, returning to the title screen in that fashion.
