Reviews for "Bubble Tanks Arenas"

Fun.

I love bubble tank! Now we can customize our tanks! Sweet! I found the editor a bit annoying at times though. I just got the super machine gun and it won't let me use it and a normal gun even though I have 4 gun points. (3smg +1ng) Plus when trying to remove guns and the mouse lets go too soon you always get the error message, and it stays up way too long. if we could just hit the Delete key when they're selected it would be way better.

Too easy!!!!!!!!!

i passed the game with nothing but the basic cannon!! to easy!!

HeroInteractive responds:

You beat all 25 levels with just the basic cannon? I'm impressed! Maybe you're right...

Despite some complains, an alright game.

I loved the original Bubble Tanks game, and was rather disappointed with BTA. The game feels agonizingly slow to progress through, and while the customization and creation aspect that has been introduced is a lot of fun to mess around with, the core game is far too easy.

Now I only played up to level 10 before getting tired of it, but I was sad to see no bosses at all, and the difficulty curve moved far too slowly. Each level would introduce one new enemy type, and each arena would feature a couple more enemies than the last. The problem is the arena was far too large for the amount of enemies and their attacks, and even when hit the amount of health is so large that it barely matters.

For suggestions, I'd suggest completely removing enemy types that have no attacks. For a tutorial level or health recharge arena inbetween big fights they're fine, but they're in ever single arena and they do nothing but waste your time with clean up efforts to move on. A difficulty setting that would do something as simple as increase enemy bullet damage would be nice to make things feel harder, and something should be done sooner to decrease how easy it is to just circle strafe around the arenas over and over again to beat any swarms. The game feels like it should be a more intimidating bullet hell styled shooter, and perhaps with some bosses this might have been remedied some.

Enough negative though. I did play it for a while, and though I had a good deal of issues with the game, there was nothing particularly bad about it. It's slow to power up, and it's easy but the addition of a level creator was neat, and full control over my tank was a cool addition too. All in all I could see there was a lot of effort put into this game, and it shows.

It's an okay game.

The thing that really got me was, I had like 27 Bubble Points, but I only used 4, but I only had 5 gun points. What's the point of having a ridiculously big, class 4-10 (or whatever) ship if you can't put very many guns of it? I made it through the first four levels with the very first blaster you get in the game, then through the next 6 with a machine gun.

Another thing is just how many shots it takes to kill a single enemy. Usually I can go through a stage without getting hit once, but it'll take like 60 shots to kill one thing. They're not difficult, they just take forever to kill. This could be solved if I could just put a fucking gun on my bubble, but I can't because I have such a small amount of gun points.

Now that I'm done ranting, the good parts: The simple graphics really compliment the game. If you were to make the graphics stupidly complex, that would've killed the game. However, it's a bit disappointing that you pretty much recycled parts from your last game, but painted them red.

bit too easy to manipulate

its too easy to make a small ship with ridiculous guns and just go round the edge of the bubble firing to the center.
If you put a single medium bubble in the 4th tier and put 5 mega cannons on it not only do the enemies fire to the side of you, missing completely, your weapon destroys almost everything in like two shots.

Although it sounds weird to say you need more limitations on the customization for the game to be properly challenging
