Reviews for "Loved"

Strange.

Yes, strange. I really don't have a read on this game, as I have no clue what the meaning is. I did, however, notice the clean gameplay, and lack of bugs. The options to click were clear, and the music matched the game. Bravo, sir.

Strange

Makes me thinking of Portal, except for the changing blocks... Good enough for a 7/10 and 4/5

Completely unoriginal

Been done a thousand times. It's not "deep" or "meaningful". I'm sick of this shit always making first page. Please just write a poem nobody will read instead of taking away a place that a game I wouldn't regret playing could be sitting in.

I *Loved* it

Awesome game... I rly love it, not too challenging though but thats no bad point.

You lied

This isn't a short story. Stories have narratives. This is a mere meditation on the nature of player agency, in the context of an abstract abusive relationship.

Furthermore, the whole "graphics getting prettier if you do what the game wants and glitching up if you don't" thing has been done to death. I appreciate the message you're trying to convey here, but it's a message that's been already conveyed dozens of times in the exact same way, from Jason Rohrer's Passage to....every art game that has employed this device since. It would be neat if other paths would open if I took the "rebellious" choice, or if the main path closed up. Sadly, I didn't feel like my actions had any effect on the game world, or even on my disembodied tormentor's opinion of me. Maybe that's what you were trying to get across, but the whole "ha ha you are making decisions as a player but they are are meaningless" thing is a cheap gimmick and also already overdone.

However, I did like how the challenges the game presented to my character got more and more horrible as the game went on. I really did feel like I was engaged in a conversation with the game via my actions. Shame it didn't have anything new to say.
