I hate Mario vs Sonic fan movies, it's always the same, but it's fun to know who people like most, [SPOILER] you made Sonic win in this movie[END OF SPOILER], the message in your mind means you like him more than the other... right?. and usually I don't like Mario vs Sonic fan movies(and especially sprite made) but that was some nice editing 3/5 well... keep it up... I guess.
It was so cool...
...until the DBZ kicked in.
i know how supersonic is ctrl+c ctrl+v of goku and yadda yadda.
but when the dbz sound effects started popping one after another, i started to frown. you see, you went from classic (mario vs. sonic) to rip-off and cliche (flash + dbz) in seconds...
before the supersonic part, it was a awesome flash animation about sonic and mario fighting (ok, there are tons of those, but this one was a keeper!) but after the supersonic and teleportation AND white circles everywhere (BTW those circles were completely out of place in your animation IMO) it was "just another flash".
Well if thats what you really wanted: congratulations
if your were trying to make original content, just try again.
What is DBZ based "fightong"?
In any event, this is the same exact fight-sprite-flash that i've been seeing on NG since the late 90s, so yeah, been there done that. It hits all the same notes we're all used to; ie the DBZ method of replacing fighting with "Big Giant Circles", the whole ridiculously fast pace of it all, and ridiculously overpowered soundtrack.
I also gotta love when sprite movies attempt closeups, because the closeups in question always just look like an undefinable mess of pixels. Black cutaway bars are much better because they don't make you look at a messy pixel screen. Because honestly, the emotional tension in this flash is not high enough to warrant closeups. It's as good as a mediocre DBZ fight (which is most of them; as well as all of them after Cell Saga), which isn't saying much. Sure, you know how to move sprites around; now try doing something more entertaining with them.

I love SMBZ. But i hate rip offs. I mean there is nothing wrong with trying to compete. But dont completely copy the god freakin thing!!!

This is not awesome,just ok,Mario would've totally own Sonic,come on,Mario has more experience than Sonic and the 7 star spirits would have given Mario ultimatle power.Mario should've won.Or at least we can choose our own ending.
