Reviews for "KAZAHANA: Merciless"

I felt I had to review

After reading a few other reviews, I had to add my two cents. First of all, whenever I watch something like this, I immediately start dissecting the story. Reason being, I watch animes and the story lines are absolute ridiculous crap full of overly convoluted unexplainable differences and plot holes. That said, I listened intently to the dialogue which was surprisingly pleased that nothing was out of place, it flowed smoothly and there were no plot holes. To others here, basing a review on the level of acceptance among current audiences on this site is ignorant, base a review on the content and it's relevance to your senses. And overly critical reviews from people who have no experience are ignored so stop wasting the time to type them :)

Wow

This is awesome! It had some mini "bugs" forexxample in the battle scenes, but take it easy you get your 10 and 5 ;)

uh yeah

kinda outdated, not a *bad* thing but this style of animation/story doesn't really hold up as well here nowadays. the voice acting and recording quality is pretty bad and there's some pretty bad lipsync a couple times.

still, beyond all the ham and cheese it's still hypnotizing to watch. your flashes are probably the only pseudo-anime i'll ever watch here.

btw it's funny seeing people say things like "boy this is like xin!", uhhhhh guys you know who uploaded this right

not cool

PACE THINGS UP A BIT! For starters.

It was way too boring. Nothing that kept me interested between the action bit(s), and so I just watched on and on hoping for it to end soon. That's not the kind of attitude you want your viewers to watch your flash with.

The angles of your "shots" were not very diverse, making the thing too monotonous and a pain to sit through. Also, NEVER use the "directly from above cam" as it looks like some cheap 90s adventure game. And the guitar, ugh, we get it, he'll use it as weapon eventually. WE GET IT! Stop with the unnatural shining light tricks already...

Voice acting, mouth flapping, still frames, animation, character detail, shading, blood splatters, all were a bit too amateurish, even for a flash series.

I seriously advise you to just start from scratch. Watch a few of your favorite animated movies or something, and practice to make your artwork look on par.

Animation iteslf is a whole different story, but if you can't manage stills, I don't think there's a future for you there... yet.

Either way, this is directly taken from the source material, which is various cheap animes. It was a total mess. The structure wasn't worked out well, way too much unnecessary stuff was there.

And even though regular anime style is nothing to aspire to, you didn't even pull off the obvious stunts like their hair moving in the wind, which would improve the overall feeling significantly with little effort involved. If you're going for "cheap", at least know your shortcuts!

Overall, you're a few years too late with this. Not cool, dude(s). Not cool. Better luck next time!

Still Awesome.

Its amazing how entertaining these movies are even when they lack a huge amount of animation.

There are mostly a lot of camera moves and cuts but the music and talent of the voice actors keep the viewer engaged. Not to mention the excellent direction and script.

The only thing that stops me from giving a ten is the way some shots are really well drawn while others lack that care. It wouldn't be an issue if all the shots weren't amazingly drawn but there is a nagging inconsistency that could easily be fixed with at least an hour of going over your work in post production, its not as if there is a deadline; is there?

You might take minutes to draw a scene but its going to watched a million times over for years to come.

Keep that in consideration and keep 'em coming!

I still give this a 5 though!
