Reviews for "Aidan's Wonder mini demo"

Looks like it has a helluva potential

it looks like a game based off of one of those movies about young children and their relationships with nature and life. I like it so far! keep it up. The only thing I suggest doing is fixing the glitches.

I found one where you loose the pipe.

korded responds:

Thanks! I noticed that glitch too actually, I'll try to get it fixed. The full game is already pretty big, so it'll take quite a bit of debugging before release I'm sure.

Aidan

The mouse isn't at the same place the hand is, so you have to look at where the mouse is for where to grab things even though it should be the hand. I also got a bug with putting the pipe in Aidan's hand and taking it that caused the pipe to vanish entirely. It's a cool idea though, all though so far controlling Aidan hasn't really mattered. Maybe put in like a pressure plate thing where Aidan has to be in a certain place or something, or some other puzzle where it involves a physical thing, otherwise you're just controlling the imaginary friend the whole time.

It's a cool idea, I like the art, and I look forward to seeing the full thing.

korded responds:

Thanks for the comments,

I think now I'll have to do something about the hand, the problem I was having though was the hand obscuring things when you scrolled over them, so I'll have to play with it.

As far as controlling Aidan, the biggest point will be just to navigate the environment, as I didn't want to use the mouse to cycle through scenes. In the full version, there will be more use in controlling both characters.

Threw his pillow out of the window xD

Nice game, only(also mentioned by others xD) the mouse control is a bit confusing, but i got the hang of it, still it needs improvement.
Would love to see the real game, and i liked it how his "Imaginary friend" is you. =D
And his friend just threw his pillow out of the window xD.

korded responds:

Haha thanks, good to see you've found one of the demo's little bonuses.

it's alright

a good game but hard to realy judge it since it has no storyline to judge.
I did find it odd though that his immiginary friend was a disembodied hard.

korded responds:

Thanks, there won't be much of a backstory other than it being about a child and his imaginary friend; you'll get into adventures, and the story will develop as you play. I wanted to give the player a first person perspective of the world, so the hand felt suitable. I can't say whether or not you'll get to see yourself - Aidan's imaginary friend - in the full version.

I like the game controls!

Although, there seem to be occasional bugs (I sometimes can't drag the window). And it's a bit frustrating that it's only a demo so I don't even know if I "finished" it... (got stuck after finding the pipe and throwing out the pillow).

korded responds:

Thanks! You'll know when the demo is over, it's pretty short - did you try swinging the pipe? You could probably break something with it.
