Scientifically Speaking
I really enjoyed this game. Being scientifically accurate right down to the 4 nitrogenous bases and the process of mitosis, I salute you for keeping true to the roots. I found the game play simple, It was easy to learn but hard to master.
The evolution game mechanism was a ground breaker too, allowing different combinations which, for me, leads to different distinctions of cellular classes; from specialized gatherers to brutal prong attackers.
The AI is also formidable, I noticed that the AI found the same class distinctions as I do, where small cells gather and medium/large cells attack and defend. I also noticed that they attack in groups and not by trickling in cell by cell
"God" powers are one of the things that I enjoyed. From spawning more food to radioactive cobalt ( scientifically accurate ). It required one to think before they act. I once used the cobalt on the enemy and backfired as it turns out that a simple gatherer transformed into a freak of nature.
However, this game is not exactly perfect, it lack the ability to zoom in and out of the battlefield ( which was ironic as you are looking through a microscope ) and the ability to pan with the mouse. Also the graphics were not what I call high end and the sounds are simple. Also, without the ability to auto-retaliate. Defending can be quite a chore.
It would be REALLY nice if you could do a collaboration with flash artists. I hope you pursue the talent you have further. All the best!
