BADASS.
I'm really digging this game. On the other hand, I can tell it still needs a ton of work. Here are a few suggestions for improvement:
-occasionally I could not see the status of my plane. It was usually just one plane
-include firing arcs of planes to take some of the guesswork of whether a plane was entering or crossing a line of fire
-allow plane configuration once a technology is found before missions. I never used the poison cloud except when I needed to use something of the sort on a boss plane, where I didn't have it
Suggestions to people having trouble with slow enemies: remember that your planes do NOT need to fly maximum distance! There is a minimum speed they can fly however so keep that in mind.

I really enjoyed playing this. Graphics and sound are top notch. If this is the game in its infancy I will look forward to what it might become.

an exellent game
This is a wonderful game, I must confess, one of the best I've played in a long time.
Ignoring all the things you could of added: upgrade tree's, new planes, and the like, this game is beautifully made in terms of balance, challenge levels, and gameplay. The game is one of the few "Easy to learn hard to master" games out there, and that's a hard balance to accomplish nowadays. I liked the story a lot, as well.
The music is also perfectly fitting, which is like icing on the cake.
I like this a lot, and I'd fully back any effort on your part to expand this: a multiplayer game, or even a singleplayer game with more depth, would be great.
