Reviews for "Next Action Frog"

Too buggy to be fun

Basic platformer with lots of bugs to make it not any fun. Things like the clipping when jumping at the corner of a ledge and falling through the world because you can walk through solid blocks. Also when you beat a level and it has the "press net key" dialog up enemies can still kill you. Multiple times.

it was fun

But the frog didn't jump from the bottom platform of blocks to the upper platform of blocks very well. it was like there was an invislbe block on each platform

Nice but..

Its good and addicting BUT:
Im on stage 20 and im trying to get to a single block tall plataform as for example another user said and its almost impossible because when i jump there it just bounces and makes me lose control. And sometimes i die without even touching things.

I really wanted to like this.

The Design, Graphics, Concept, and Gameplay actually seem to be spot on.

Before I actually began to play the game, I looked at the achivements and noticed there were thirty levels and a medal that gave you one for 10 lives lost and 30 lives lost. I thought, this may be like a cooler version of I Wanna Be The Guy or something like that, and I was right.

I loved the style and the concept behind the story, It was really spot on and I actually enjoyed it. For about 10 levels. After that I started to realize that every time you hit something with your head you fly downwards like a brick, which didnt help AT ALL on stage 20 I think It was.

I thought I was gonna get lucky and get around 20 lives lost, but I had to quit on stage 23 because I had lost 202 Lives at that point. I see you like Kaizo Mario, but I'm sad to say Kaizo Mario has fluid control (Mainly because it was a Mario game), but this needs a lot of work.

This game is great, but if it wasnt for the bad controls it wouldnt be so bad. I also disliked dying on enemies I didnt even touch, the Spinning Blades kill you as long as you're standing next to them, and I dont need that. I wouldnt say its a bad game, but the controls make it unplayable for me. I'd rather play Kaizo Mario, which is about 20 times harder, but I know I can do it at some point, but here I feel hopelessly trying for something thats not going to happen. I'm 5/5ing this because of everything other than Control. Needs work, but I'd love to see a Action Frog 2.

G'Luck

Pretty good

There's only one thing I could possibly gripe about: Your collision detection on poor froggy seems a bit overzealous. He decides he's "hit" blocks above him or those spinny death things when he really shouldn't have. The worst is in that one level where you have to jump from a single block up into a single-block-tall tunnel formed by a platform two tiles above another platform--I had to restart the level a dozen times because there's about a three frame window when you trying to enter the gap won't be mistaken for you hitting your head on a ceiling that's already below you and bouncing down at high speed. Jumping onto any platform directly above the platform you're standing on is harder than it has any right to be.

Anyways, made it up to level 25. I'm not even sure if that's possible--am I somehow supposed to reach that second hawk faster than it seems physically possible to do so, or am I supposed to bounce on him when he is literally overlapping the snakes with pixel-perfect precision and run the remainder of the level?

keybol responds:

it's actually simpler than what you can imagine, wait for the snakes to pass on that two block platform below the 4 block
