fun game
i do very much enjoy this game and think it's a lot of fun, but Tachigami is right, the design is very similar to cave story in a lot of ways. not saying that's a bad thing but at least tell us if that was, in fact, your inspiration.
Not bad
The first thing that came to mind was cavestory. By the time I started to get into this game it was already over. It would of been nice if the game could of been longer with more bosses, more characters and more story.
The music loops should of been longer as well, after a while they became annoying because of the repetition.
Coding and graphics were good. keep it up.

Seems like a fine shooter.
Fun blocky pixel graphics.
Heavily inspired by Cave Story from the HUD interface, the manner in which you interact with objects, and even the save/health spots are near identical, with a Balrog reference every time you save.
It's a good game, and I think you pay tribute well just by making this game, props to ya.
