Reviews for "Greater Fighter"

too hard

the powerups are only one sided
its too frustrating because for my experience the cpus take too long to move
the charachter im playing as makes distracting sounds when he gets hit
the enemies have too much health

ummm hard?

Alittle light on the instructions but other than that a challenging and fun game

A few flaws... But fun

This game has a great concept, but could use a little bit of patching up. The enemies, especially bosses, have INSANE amounts of health compared to the Greater Fighters.
The "silence" rule is pretty inconvenient as it makes 60 seconds a boring, bullet dodge-fest. The pink Fighter also seems pretty unbalanced because it has very little armor and no speed to dodge. The bullets do more damage but have a very low firing rate. Excluding those things the game is pretty addicting and fun.

A few tips/pointers:
-Beating the first level on your first try is nearly impossible. However... If you lose the level you keep the experience you gained (most likely 2-4 levels on the blue and white) and get points to buy "hired guns."

-You can get experience by shooting ANYTHING. Including asteroids. The white Fighter has a high rate of fire with a lot of bullets which results in crazy leveling.

-The blue Fighters shift attack is extremely powerful and racks up a ton of experience on the first level boss if you use it when he is standing still and can get TONS of experience (300-400 combo if you don't get hit) and is quite useful for leveling the blue Fighter. (I got from level 1 to 3 in one fight with the level 1 boss by using it)

WTF?!

The ONLY redeeming quality in this game is the one that I personally pay the least attention to in any game: the graphics. Put simply, this game sucks. Especially the difficulty. You have three ships. the enemy has 5-10. Nothing too bad right? games everywhere have worse odds than that, right? WRONG! For one thing, the "attacking" means that you change into a shooting game, in which one of your three ships is pitted against a seemingly unending amount of enemies until either you die (the most likely option), time runs out, or the enemies' health bar runs out. By the way, the enemies' health depletes about one tenth of the speed that yours does. the music is banal and repetitive, and the game suffers from a bad case of "All your base" style translation. I had no idea of what was going on, to be perfectly honest, so maybe I missed something meant to make the game more forgiving. But, yeah, great graphics, dude! Next time, though, focus on making the rest of the game less ass-rapingly hard and more coherent.

"The idea of combining turn-based strategy elements with arcade-style shooter stages is brilliant, but the game suffers from a ton of minor flaws that make it incredibly frustrating and nearly unwinnable. Both sound and graphics are excellent, but the following things need to be ironed out:"

I won't quote DeppJones entire post, put please, PLEASE read it. REALLY. This game could easily be a 5 and 10 game.
