Very standard top down shooter, but well made.
Has a lot in common with all those other top down shooters but has some of its own uniqueness with the perks system. Lots of weapons keep it fresh, and are fairly balanced although the Machinegun is overpowered compared to everything before energy weapons. I liked that the enemies had excellent variety in their attacks, although they all act really static.
Animation is very smooth if simple. I like that the simplicity of the sprites meant that the game had absolutely no slowdown whatsoever even with my crap computer, so this game will run well with anyone. The backgrounds are a really dull, though, especially in the final chapter (Earth?).
Sound sounds stock, but is fair enough. Music did get repetitive after a while, would have been nice if it was a bit more actioney.
Story seems like you just put it in there for the sake of having one.
For those people having trouble with the final boss, this is what I did:
Take -There is no Spoon-, -Bonus Warden-, -Bonus Magnet-, -Mine layer (?)- and -Repair Drone- at the minimum. When fighting the boss, stand right on top of the turret. It can still hit you from there, but if you juggle the position right you can force it to miss while you'll have point blank shooting advantage. Use either the Ion or Plasma gun to deal damage to the boss, and switch to Railgun to take out those flying bots when they come. Pray that one of those bots will drop a shield, and keep going. If you get a level up (or saved a perk point from earlier), use the Full Repair perk to get another shield so you can concentrate on the boss. You should destroy it eventually if you have a little luck.
