Beautiful.
I love the art, it was very original, and the concept flowed very fluidly. I think this is one of the few times, maybe even the first, that animation has been done with charcoal.
As for the ending, I was reminded of the ending of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Just a coincidence?

I wouldn't worry too much about the 'hacked together' ending - it works quite well given the nature of the animation and adds an additional humorous touch :)

Kind of reminds me of a really old animation I saw done on a chalkboard. How'd you do it without chewing through the paper?
The charcoal I used wasn't very heavy and kneaded erasers are really gentle on paper
