You know what guys? Maybe Catholics and other religious figures are tired of being proven wrong again and again since the days of Newton and Galileo. We used to think that the earth was flat... that the land that never moved covered most of the surface... that the sun and the universe revolved around us and a bunch of other things.
Men of science were branded as heretics by the very religious leaders who fully believed in things that we all can agree as false today. To cast 'heretics' to the flame of death for simply saying things like 'the world is round' and 'the earth revolves around the sun... ' is one of the the stupidest and greediest acts of humanity... ever... The church simply do not want to share power with 'stargazers' and other men of science.
The biggest irony that people don't notice today is the way how 'religion' uses discoveries from 'science' to spread their faith and belief in airplanes to missions in third world countries, televangelism, internet, electricity, light bulbs, stereo speaker and mics...
The vatican themselves officialized a decree acknowledging the 'possibility' life in places 'other' than earth and maybe goes as far as advanced alien civilizations.
Science has hasn't changed at all as far as the methodoligy and philosophy regarding the nature of understanding the universe and so pure faith in just belief alone are no different. Believe all you want but belief alone can not change the way how the world works as far as whats possible and what's not. Go ahead and do a matrix where you jump of a cliff and 'believe' that your faith in god can save you from pancaking into the ground.
Dont get me wrong though, i'm an agnostic, not an athiest which is a big difference. I fully believe there is a higher power but mortal men simply cannot know the whole entire truth. Any religious figures who tells you otherwise are suspect. A little faith and belief is a good thing, but there are limits to those as far as i'm concerned.
Just like the flat vs. round earth argument from centuries past, evolution vs. creationism would come out with the same predictable results. Aren't you guys tired of losing the argument you creationist retards? Give it up and join us cause you certainly can't beat us...
