I love the message i got from it. I think it's very deep on an analytical stance and although it must be very personal to you i reckon many people can emphasise with it, i found my own personal message from it myself.
Although using the video game world as a microcosm for real life isn't a new idea the way you presented it was very well done and original. It started quite unstructured and a bit basic but seemed to sew itself together more and more as it went on.
I was about to sigh at the end when i thought you were going to ruin it with a lame gag, but i was pleasantly surprised and couldn't think of a better way to end it. Well done.

Now I don't know if that's true. There has been some very fine non comedy on newgrounds. I thought both versions of Dare where pretty good for example.
Old School Stuff
Makes me remember of when I spent one whole day trying to make a perfect D&D Char (which the DM ended banning for overpowering the party brutally ), neverthless this is rather saddening... That is why you should be evil, don't go for the princess... Go for WORLD DOMINATION, if not getting the princess breaks the cliche, so does the villain finally winning...
Now is it my impression or the "Your Princess is not here, perhaps in another castle", means: "Hey dude, go get a real life and interact with real people"?
Whereas the animation and sprites weren't anything special (dragon aside) the reflexive value and sound make it worth an 8.
I have a question I wish you could explain to me... Why does the protagonist seem to have boobs in the start screen, I was like wtf, female adventurer is looking for the princess!? Also, holy shit, one hitting a Giant Zombie Dragon... reminds me of Diablo Open (good ol' hacking competitions... Oh hi let's try out this new -100% health on hit passive).
I might have given you a better score if the development was a bit longer... Don't go looking for a ten with sprites though, I would usually only give 10 for original animations and drawings. Regarding the fact the characters have no voice, that is alright, it would be rather weird if the black stickman talked...

Because the little sprite character thing is a girl. That just happened to be the sprite I had lying around, and who says only guys can go looking for unrealistic ideals anyways?
