Reviews for "Shadez2: Battle for Earth"

This was meh...

I'll give you a three because you did an okay job but:

1. i love Command and Conquer and this game is a shameful representation of the original idea.

2. it was made so that users had to by additions to it and honestly, this wasn't nearly good enough to charge people to use bonus content.

3. the gameplay was boring and there was not enough readily accessible content so it was short. took me about ten minutes to play through.

it was a good idea but it needs more effort and you need to stop the advertising crap.

Good, could be better.

The graphics are good.
The gameplay is awesome but, some levels are hard, and sadly you have to unlock some levels by cash:(

I like to see a 3rd game of these series, a bit better than this one:P

Could be better, not enough info on everything!!

Partial Content accessible from NG lose you a point straight away.

Its kind of fun, units behave in interesting ways, its fast paced and doesnt lag.
But.. i find it tiresome.

The interface doesnt work very well (still had to do some trial-and-error to figure out some stuff.. like how to make soldier enter a 'copter.. no, i was doing guesswork ALL THE TIME), The tutorial didnt help at all, it gives free XP.

Upgrading our stuff should show what is getting changed.. i hate having to guess for info i should have acess to at all time.

The linear map favors "steamroller" tactics, turtle up then move the bulldozers foward.

The minimap is useless. It doesnt show anything.... Oh wait, it needs the radar first. But still it should show AT LEAST the terrain on it.

How do i unselect stuff? ESC work but its a out-of-the-way button. Make it space bar or something.

The linear buuilding method makes it really hard and clumsy to setup defenses a bit farther away.. since all your stuff have to be close to the main base... and said bases are getting so long its getting ridiculous.

Killing a unit prevent its ammo from reach its target.

Light tanks should be able to target air units, so far, only rocket troopers, artillery, missile turrets and appaches can do so.

Spent XP cannot be gotten back; i believed that turrets would be a nice investment, but since i cant deploy them anywhere usefull; they suck. And i cant take back the xp spent on them, even if its not that much.

The ennemy doesnt have ressource management; it CANT run out of cash. Attack hard and fast when you are ready. With overwhelming forces.

Radar eats energy like hell. Its necessary for a billion things. It makes basic stuff appear on the minimap.

ORE DRILLS; give you 50$ every second, at base level. At max level they also eat energy like mad. A full, fully upgraded Nuclear plant. I think they harvest ressouce near them, they dont produce free money.

Waypoint: Select a unit in a building, create it, while it still selected click somewhere on teh play area, a line should appear. Its a waypoint.

Blackhawks have a more range than the Appache! And they are cheaper! But (for some reason) they cant fire on air units. Appaches are very, VERY fragile. IMHO appaches should have armor and long-range misilles, BH have machine guns.

The Ennemy, however, most of the time doesnt have this problem; many of his units can target all... why cant we? Just make them less effective. My basic marines dont even fire back at Air units that are 5 inches from their face. How does that makes any sense?

Transport 'choppas, once, never wanted me to land the last few civilians i had taken on board. They simply never allowed me to land at all, when i had landed at that spot a few minutes earlier with the first batch of civs! It happened in the mission; the end of life.

In another mission, one bridge too far, the CPU could rebuild faster than what i could destroy it!! Even with a massive force! WTF?! I had to press foward, never stopping for long, to destroy his main building. And then, turn back and (again) destroy the base that poped right behind me in a few seconds!

All in all, its a decent game with a lot of rough edges, and leave way too much of the gameplay "in the dark", leaving us doing trial-and-error to figure things out we should know right at the beggining.

Pay for play?

Not hey look at my crap, now buy some of it so I can make more crap

POW!

Right in the kisser!
But seriously.. the game rocked. It does have some minor problems.. i.e Being really easy even towards the end. I think paying for the levels is actually quite reasonable, due to the fact of all of the free ones you get. Besides.. if you create an account you can get free points by doing stupid offers and I bought to levels which rocked.
Keep it up.
