A fun time passer
I realy liked this game. It was nice and basic. Traveling was fun and eventfull and the storylines were fun to play. Combat was a little too simple though...you could've added something extra to make it more fun...ANYTHING extra to make it not so one-sided. When it came to combat with a city, it was all about luck of hitting higher than the archers did. Perhaps you could make those battles a little more definate? As for making a character, I like all the options I had for his image, but I would've like to make him more skillfull. Almost every party member has more skill points than your character so it makes your character seem a little weak... Also, a little note on upgrading the vessel; you should make it so that players have to go in order from lowest to highest to obtain the Vanguard. I find it way to easy! I just go between two cities, racking up money until I have enough to buy one expensive diamond and ten cheap peices of cloth. In terms of arming your party, I feel as if the prices for weapons and armor are not balanced. Realatively strong items are cheap and the best equipment is far more expensive. It would be simpler to arm an entire party with +5 weapons than just one or two characters with a +6 or +7.
Overall, this is a great game and some of these things that make it too easy are what make it so fun. I love to play this game and just travel throughout the land with my party, armed with masterful weapons and armor...with my epic vanguard of course.
BTW: What is with the ghost ship final battle? I win with one hit, is that supposed to be like that or is it a glitch that you didn't indend? I've also noticed a glitch that allows you to ignore the next battle by clicking "Go" when you are confronted if you immediately click "Go" after winning a battle (helped make the package transport missions ALOT quicker, so please don't change!). There was another time when I passed right by a town and my guy just kept walking forever until I reset the game...but it only happened once.
