Reviews for "Momentum Missile Mayhem 4"

kudos on the startcraft ref.

i respectfully decline?

Not as good as 1-3, but not bad.

Im normally a rather large fan of your work, but this game has me disappointed.

Firstly, and most importantly, it takes too long for each shot to reload. Combine this with the fact that sometimes the shots just spin around you and you have to ram into enemies in order to get rid of it, thats a lot of time not shooting at enemies and a whole lot more ramming into them and hoping you wont die too.

Secondly, more often than not, I found myself getting killed by "upgrades" that should of been for my benefit. In your past games, you could click on a dementional hole without fear of being sucked in yourself, and in this game, with that security gone, your much more hesitant to use it. I imagine you did that to add a layer of strategy, but its really more annoying,

Thirdly, upgrading the balls were practically useless. You can make them more powerful, but the energy cost goes up, so in the end, what do you gain? Your paying more for better shots, and if you wanted to do that you might as well just get better shots instead of upgrading current ones. Though the idea itself was a good one.

Also, Im slightly annoyed, oddly enough, that you didnt' keep the origonal way to shoot off the weapon. Ironically, I found that pulling back on the shot was a easier way to judge power and distance. This new one, click, then watch it go, was fairly inconstant. sometimes I'd gently lob itself, and other times it'd go really really fast. And that was very irksome for me.

All in all, I can see you tried to fix some of the small problems in the first game, but I think that made more problems than they fixed. This is still a worthwhile game to play: the core of the gameplay is still there, and some of the upgrades and stuff are fun to see, and the music choice was good (Fun to hear, but not distracting) but all in all, this could of been much better.

thanks!

The other ones were better.

I really wanted to like this game, as the other ones were pretty good. But just the fact that I can't fire off multiple shots really killed it for me. I dont want so sit around watching the shot I just fired off drift no where near an enemy while the enemies slowly advance on my position. That's just fucking irritating. So I hope you read this, and either add this into the next one or fix the current one to be able to fire off multiple shots. I won't be playing this one or future ones unless you do.

Tons of issues, but good overall

It's lame that none of your weapons are charged when you start the level.

Those enemies that are immune to green, blue, and white weapons are extremely lame. They can only be hit by specials... what if you don't have any specials? tough luck, you just watch helplessly as they go through. It would be more acceptable if they died easily so you could kill them by crashing other units into them or ramming them, but they have a ton of hit points so that's not practical.

The dimensional rift has a serious problem, namely that when you detonate it you must go over to one side to avoid getting pulled in, and if a nuke truck happens to be entering from that side you can't get out of the way and you die instantly. This just happened to me 3 times in a row.

Upgrading the blue weapon is pointless, it barely makes it more powerful but increases the energy cost by a lot.

I have actually found the white weapon to be less effective than the blue one in most cases because it bounces around too long before disappearing so you have to wait longer before firing the next shot. Plus it has a high energy cost.

It would be nice to have the time you lasted at the end of a level along with the other stats.

It would be nice if the shockwave and implosion affected you too, so that you could use them to save yourself from a singularity.

Also, don't you think the last level is just a TAD high on the difficulty scale? I get to around 100 second left before falling into a singularity or getting killed by those hard to avoid fireballs. I died like 5 times.

Woo!

I just spent 2 hours straight playing this thing and I'm only halfway through. I like how new enemies gradually get introduced, but I have one problem... I maxed out my energy upgrades, and I still find myself in a crisis when I'm doing double fire!! Please make it so I can keep upgrading my energy... Or at least make an upgrade that makes the energy bar fill faster. I don't care if you make it cost 10 points per upgrade... I need it!
