I can't blame the maker for wanting to make money.
The game looks cool, however I sort of agree with the users that are upset about having to pay because I would like to play it right now but dont have the funds until payday to waste on a download.
Although I dont blame the maker of the game to want to make money off his talent. Making games is their talent just like if someone could paint really well or could write stories really well. They would copyright their work and sell it. Some people have talent and drive, then they make a career out of it.
Everyone wants to make money in this world and if you have a talent where you can make money at it as a side job or a serious career you would. If every artist or every person who had a talent in the entertainment industry whether it be making games or making movies, spent their time and money making a product and just gave it away when they could be getting paid for their time and talent.
Also it takes money to make a game, especially a good one. Not sure if it cost a little or alot to make this game but I am sure they are happy to get reimbursed for their investment in making the game plus make a profit.
If anyone puts time, money, effort into a talent that people are willing to pay for, I say make money off your talent. Its not like it costs all that much. It is $19 which is the cost of most computer games and some are $30-$40 in stores. If it is good enough and long enough it would be worth the $19, Do we expect the makers of XBOX, PS3, Wii and other PC games that are in stores to just give them to us for free when they spend time and money into making it? Do we expect to go to a painters workshop and say, hey I like that painting that you took many many hours of your time to paint, can I just have it for free?
I was kinda bummed that it wasnt free as well, but I cant say I blame the maker for charging, its like any other maker of a game that wants to get paid for his time and talent.
