Holy Shinto!!!

Wow, that was really good. I can't believe that was even your first try at a flash, usually most people's first tries are just crappy animations with lame humor that usually doesn't even make sense. The animation was very fluid, the music made it great, some pretty dynamic camera angles and movements that made it all come together quite nicely. And this also wasn't, "Hey, I'm a ninja who knows how to make eight billion of myself" "Oh yeah, well I'm a samurai who knows how to make sonic booms with my blade! We shall fight!"

The only things that I do have to say is that some of the actions seemed a little...just awkwardly drawn. Like hand placement when the samurai held his hand on the hilt of the sword. And just like everyone else said, the eyes, though the eyebrows were significant as well, eyes would help out greatly to help tell the story.

Some minor almost insignificant details, for the most part, when a sword was sheathed, it would be blade up, and on the right side. Also, when they hold their swords, if they were holding it two handed, their left would be all the way at the top, where as their left hand would be all the way at the bottom with their pinkie hooked of the end. Unless you wanna make him left handed which in that case, everything would be reversed.
As for the ninja, their swords are usually straight, not curved like a katana.

It would be nice to see some more weapons as well.

Again, this was an awesome flash, and it will be a pleasure to watch more in the future.

Very good fella, your first animation and you've got the weekly 10th!(07/15/09) Just take a look at the portal best of the week and you'll see this with your own eyes.
I don't know if you were too lazy to colour the drawings but in white and black the flash fitted very well with the music, the situation and your drawing style. And I have to say: you've done some great movement effects with the pencil! The shuriken part is a good example. So much lines and all of then were perfectly put. And every time the two swords hit there were sparks.
I also liked that the ninja used his feet to attack (not only the blade), while the samurai only used his sword. They had different ways to fight.
And you've put an introduction before the fight and a funny scene at the end. These things help a lot to increase your score.
If your drawings were better I'd give you a 10, but this is something you'll have to train in order to make then better, so I won't complain about it.
You sure have a future, buddy. Let's see if your next work get the weekly first.

Improve? IMPROVE!?

How can you improve on this!?! The movements were smooth and well thought out! The unique drawing style of having no facial features (except eyebrows) was original! I say YES on a sequel! (There is always room for improvement, do not slack off and you will be a pro in no time)

pretty amazing

was fantastic...
the graphics and the motion was really nice, i liked the style, i just would like to have a little bit more 'gray colors', it was a little bit too plain
but the animation was really nice, and the story was well designed, i liked it a lot

hay for your first animation that was quiet good, the battle was interesting and not the same thing over and over. .. good job comrade. if you made a sequel with teh same skill as this it would still be good , i try drawi ng and the eyes are always a bicth to get right, i cant imagine doing a animation , lol
