Reviews for "Rombo"

This game is great!

I just love the retro feel of it :)

Great

Awesome job it was well done and the gameplay was very smooth the only problems i had was there were allot of glitches and the enemy's were repetitive.

badsectoracula responds:

Thank you for your rating. What kind of glitches? You might have less problems if running in fullscreen (Page up, F6 or Tab) or in a popup.

Really fun.

But, there was an obvious issue with rotation, and enemy awareness. /An enemy would appear behind you and you wouldn't notice until he struck you. Also your rotation is to slow tto trun fast enough. This was fun, but needs improvement.

badsectoracula responds:

Thanks for the rating :-). You can quick-turn using the Shift key :-).

I love old shooters like this

Games like this are hard to come by, and it seems like you put a lot of work into this, the only part I didn't like is when you walk into a room and you know there's enemies around the corner but you can't turn fast enough to shoot them, and you do run a bit too fast in my opinion. But still very enjoyable and balanced game.

badsectoracula responds:

Thanks :-). Indeed it took me a couple of months to make it, not including the rendering code :-).

You might want to try this: when you're in front of the door instead of going in, turn around about 90 degrees. Then use strafe (Q or E) to go in. Kill the guy in front of you and if there is another one, press the quick-turn button (Shift) to turn around and kill the other :-).

It plays great!

This is how all early first person shooters should have played, the control scheme is excellent! If you bother to add sound effects into later releases this will be the most amazing Flash based FPS I have ever played!

I can't wait to see future releases of Rombo!

badsectoracula responds:

Thanks :-). I'll see about adding sound effects, but the hardest part is actually making them :-P :-P
