Reviews for "Space Beats"

Only one hand.

Should be one note at a time, no two steps. They're impossible to get.
Just a thought.

Well, uhh...

Usually, when I play a song (Arcade or Custom [I'm not sure about the arcade]), the arrow don't register (Not counting as pressed) and I end up missing. That happened a few times. As a result, I can only go up to X2 multi. It's really costly, too. The dance meter will go down as they didn't register and if the problem happens too many times, they might fail the song.

...Or is it my keyboard?

Meh...

I'm a massive fan of rhythm games, so I know what makes a good one and what makes one fail.
For starters, the timing of the key presses only vaguely related to the actual song, and the same went for the note placement as well. If you don't get these right, then it's not a rhythm game, it's a very long QTE.
Secondly, I couldn't see what was going on half the time. My screen was flooded with 'PERFECT' and 'x6!!' and, inevitably 'MULTIPLIER LOST'. The lighting near the note bar didn't help either, especially seeing as it's the same colour as the notes i'm supposed to hit.
Lastly, the huds were too far away from the action to actually be any use, and they're too like the background. The multiplier indicator was ok, but the rest I couldn't see without failing the song.
I kind of like this game, it's better than some of the crap you get on newgrounds, and the ability to upload some of your songs was very good, even if it didn't recognize some of my music. but it's not much new, and you could have done so much more with it.
3/5 6/10

brilliant game

however I have voted it down because i didn't feel that it was actually matching the songs rythm correctly. it felt like you were just playing the game and the music was just a bonus. might as well have on my ipod.

Well...it looks good

The game is technically sound and has a good selection, but I didn't really feel the buttons matching the songs at all.
