Not Bad
Not sure how it got 2nd, must have been a fairly slow day, but it wasn't too bad. The graphics are good, the system could use a touch up here and there, and the sound fit.
A couple of small things could be fixed, however. 1, the constant increase of Inn prices. It's good to increase the price as you go so that it isn't a quick fix between every match and regulates the gold used for items, but with prices that high you need to stick around areas for far too long to get the other items available. I found myself skipping good items due to price because I would be wasting too much time and gold with Inns. The way I would fix this would be to remove Inns while bringing the prices of everything else up and healing between matches, or just decrease the prices of Inns a little bit.
Also, there is a significant lack of story for the game. All good tactics games have a plot that you are following. This one, your gramps kicks you out. Not much of a plot, and not enough to hold the attention of the player. Defense games don't need plot, so you might not be used to it, but it's time to learn to write.
Finally, I found a significant glitch in the game. I was fighting the first miscellaneous battle in the Sandos area and a snake attacked Aryana. She didn't reach 0 health, but died and left a box. I assume this was a glitch left from a beetle I had just killed. However, it then changed to Aryana's turn. I was still able to attack and move. However, when I tried to move, the game froze. This is something you probably missed while testing, so it might be hard to recreate. But it is a crippling glitch when found. Thankfully, I save before every battle. ^_^;
Overall, it's a good first attempt, but the next one needs to fix these issues.
