Mesmerising!

I was sucked in to the colourful adventures of a bachelor :D haha Truly Amazing!

AdamCook responds:

We're really pleased you got so absorbed in our work! Thank you very much!

a fresh new idea

loved it, a nice break from all the regular death and carnage on NG. Nice new idea, the whole storybook setup. bravo sir!

AdamCook responds:

Cheers, man! I'll let you know when we do our encore!

A splendid endeavor hindered with a few blemishes.

The story does indeed reminisce of childhood eras where storybooks filled with lush illustrations splashed together by an artist. I much appreciated the intricate syntax used for the story. The more complex diction is a welcomed and refreshing approach when compared with the current mundane literature. I also enjoyed the slang not commonly evident in the States (i.e. chav). The sultry voice of the narrator was superb as i felt swayed by the elegance in his voice.

As one bloke before me has stated, the story itself is a little trite. However, the fundamentals of building a character relationship with the audience is solid. You have the fundamentals of writing intricate stories. Now, adventure more and develop a more unique style to call your own. The last blemish is in accordance with the voice acting of the auctioneer. In truth, this is a personal preference. The use of the smooth voice and the juxtaposition of a sudden abrupt loud voice does not appeal to me. Overall however, this is a wonderful animation and i do hope to see more collective collaboration with a similar style!

AdamCook responds:

To any concerned viewers reading this, I PLAN TO FIX SEVERAL SOUND ISSUES including those discussed here in the next week, SO NO WORRIES! (Other work I'm involved with makes it tricky to find time to hit the studio and fashion a new version, but I'll try as soon as I can!)
Now, onto my response...

Thank you very much for providing a fair and detailed critique.
I'm glad to hear the story delivered an experience uncommon in your traditional viewing on Newgrounds, and am thrilled that you enjoyed our combined efforts.
I share your hopes for further collaborations of this nature in the near future!

I acknowledge wholeheartedly there's been no attempt to re-invent literature here.
This interactive flip-book format being a rather fresh concept to the general Newgrounds audience, I felt it more appropriate to deliver something familiar yet entertaining to test the waters.
Nevertheless, I write with my heart foremost, and rarely am I entirely comfortable with fitting into boxes, so I slightly skewed the archetypal elements to keep it interesting for my own personal taste.
I can assure you that my style is already broader (and also more finessed) than the work demonstrated here, and it will be my great pleasure to demonstrate the breadth of that style as soon as my next big project materialises.
If you're interested, I'll be sure to inform you when it's ready.

In the meantime, you should look to the Storybook Collab as your source for further literary developments... maybe you'd even fancy contributing a story yourself!

WOW

Wonderful, different, and funny as hell, I hope to see more of your work soon.

AdamCook responds:

Thank you very much, I'm really pleased you enjoyed it!
I'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as the next big project is in motion.

I love it!

Great rhetoric with scrupulous references to modern culture, truly a good time in a book for those who seek minute forms of user interactivity and those be found wanting oddly nostalgic art.

AdamCook responds:

I'm glad it appealed to you! There's definitely something exciting about mixing old and new styles together, and it's great that the result in this case is finding a great deal of appreciation! Let's hope that further engaging developments spring from this collective interest!

Thanks for your comments!
