Reviews for "Hero's Arms"

Very cool

but the fact that leveling hp does nothing except give full hp is kinda lame... I was testing the difference between level 1 and 2 hp, and I got hurt less with level 1 hp. -_- So either all it does is give full hp (worse use of a level up ever) or it makes a difference so low it's even worse then full hp recovery...
Only being able to attack in 4 directions suck, and makes taking advantage of the game easy... or you mess up and get hurt.
Not even full version? Make that more noticeable. I take that back... Kongregate likes pisses off people playing on different sites.
Cool game though. No point in commenting the good. Should improve the bad first.

Zelda memories... returning

Yes, first thing that comes to mind when i played this game was, ZELDA. yes, the crudy old game that REALLY needs, either, some story polishing or to be dumped FULL STOP. anyway, back to the review. everything, as i said, felt just like zelda, there wasn't any real difference (except for the grid that is) if it wasn't all grind and no play, it would be GOOD but it isn't in my perpective. it NEEDS some story plot, or some dirrections on where to go and not walking around aimlessly and killing anything and EVERYTHING that, so much as slitly MOVES (omg zelda flash-back)

anyway, it COULD be better, and it SHOULD be better (story wise) but it dosen't have the essence of a full fledged, rpg-openworld, game

6/10 for the crapy game-play, but decent animation (or else it would be 3) and 3/5

Good, but boring

At fist it seamed like a pretty good game, with good graphics and gameplay, but after fifteen minutes of searching in the fields and finding nothing but a LOT of enemies, I got totally bored.
In thirty minutes I could only get 600 coins.
Well, what I´m trying to say is that the game is TOO long, you just keep swinging your "sword" (wooden stick) and avoiding projectiles for the whole afternoon, and the "cool" items are extremely expensive (if not impossible to afford).

I'll say that it's okay

Really, it's just Zelda with experience points.
Hero's Arms is fun in that it's an adventuring RPG, where you can constantly level up and get tons of cash. It isn't fun in that there's only one kinda good weapon and there's a flawed health system. By one kinda good weapon, I mean that the sword doesn't stand up to many enemies effectively, even though it's the highest weapon you can get (without having to start a new game on Kongregate, which I am not going to do). The boomerang doesn't compare, as it's pretty slow and low in damage. The ice scepters are not good for crowds, which you experience a lot in the game. Having a high strength level doesn't help much, as your attack damage goes up slightly each level, resulting in the same amount of hits for an enemy to die. And please, just get rid of useless weapons for which I have better versions of; I don't think I'll be using the stick anytime soon. The health system is ridiculous; I'll get a food drop nearly every 50 enemies I kill, and that number is not constant. Every time I need some health, I don't get any food, but when i have full/nearly full health, I'll get at least 3 chicken legs. If there was a way to store food in order to preserve band-aids, I'd enjoy the game a lot more. Ok, now for the good things this game has.
The art style is great. The gruesome designs for the pig warriors just make me hate them more. This game can last for hours (though it has little replay value) as you scavenge around the playing area for money and items. Just I don't think it took me 20 hours to complete everything, maybe 6 or 7. And yes, I have a life.

it could be really better...

it lacks something that outstand the game but this one its just another copy of zelda.
