Reviews for "Arachnid Wars"

Nice new game you have

Just a minor thing though, it really isn't that fun if you can't actually control your units freely, it's a nice addicting game but it would be better if the player could send one unit one way and another unit another way instead of then going on their own predetermined paths. You also said something about a Fallout inspired rpg? and if so are you going to make it like this where you just create units hit the start button and watch then fight, or can we be able to actually tell the units where to go?

dz2001 responds:

Imagine this: both bases are controlled by AI and you play not as spiders or scorpions but as a guy with a gun :P With full control of actions of course. Thats what I mean when speaking of an RPG.

This game is an AI vs AI combat test.

I might make a second version of Arachnid Wars, where you actually control every unit, but I'm not sure if its worth wasting time on...

Too long...

Holy shit, I just played the 2nd level, and it took me half an hour to beat it.
Its too long per level imo. Other than that though great job

What the hell?!

Okay, I've seen a lot of turn-based strategy games in my day. They're my favorite type of game. I have NEVER seen a system where you have to pay some points to make the game more fun to play like this bullshit psi points system you've got going on. What is the point? So people don't speed up the pointless fight scene too much? Its fine if it was just used for the resource/enemy peeking but why for mass commanding and speeding up? That's just plain annoying. There not much strategy to this game either. Why do your evolution points top off? I can't beat the 2nd level on normal because the enemy just plain has better pieces then I do, and I can never get to them because I top off at 10 evolution points. All in all, its an alright concept, and it could be a GREAT game if you just thought some of this shit out.

great game

but the pace is absoutely insectoid -- My time sense is more humanoid and I get boired when a battle lasts 100 rounds and 30 or 40 of them are spent just getting a few spiders to cross the screen.

Pick up the pace and you got a golden game here.
Thats the only factor keeps me from giving this a 10/5 rather than a 6/3

i dont know

the first 3 level was ok,
and the 4th one i played it on easy because it had been 100+ rounds and there were no improvements at all.
and the 5th one, i seriously started to hate the game, even on easy mode the AI still is too strong with too powerful units, and neither of me nor my enemy wins.
i just hate the game after then.

i think easy should be really an easy task of winning but in fact, not at all.

but well i look forward to your next sequel
