Argh...weapons...
Pros:
-Well paced; reasonable difficulty level
-Good graphics
-Weapon variety
-Appropriate, mood-setting music
Cons:
-Lag (sometimes, for seemingly no reason)
-Forced weapons choices (this is the main problem I had; although you can theoretically use an earlier weapon on a level, it's basically mandatory to use the latest unlocked weapon set. This bothered me especially with the pulse gun/rocket combo-- I upgraded those weapons exhaustively in an attempt to avoid using the less effective clusterbomb/flamethrower combo, but I found that the easiest way to succeed was just using the new weapons)
Suggestion:
Create an option that allows players to stick with older weapons successfully; perhaps an accumulative passive upgrade on unused weapons and/or the option to swap two weapon's damage levels.
good but with a few flaws....
good game but it has a few flaws... most of them have already been named do i am only going to add what i did not see yet:
- buying full repair in later levels for 3000 gold heals all your hp where u normally would have needed like 30000 gold
- the same goes for all the other specials : their prices have to rise with the levels
...
I'll remind you now: Not everyone's got a PC with the Graphics power of a Nuclear Bomb. Even on "Low" Setting I got very few FPS from it. Suffice to say, I couldn't hardly play the damn thing. And I didn't for very long because I just got fed up with it.
If you're going make a sequel, make it more PC Friendly...
Great game play but needs some tweaking.
I really like the action of the game - the mixture of the space bar primary with the mouse secondary. I also like how the weapon upgrades require the player to adopt different fighting tactics. What I didn't like was that when I played a through for like the fourth time and finally got the mini-nuke and laser....they were lackluster. The biggest reward for me was the heat seekers and...er...ion/plasma gun that stuns. The first wave I got those I was feeling bad ass and then had an appropriate level of difficulty ramp up in ensuing waves. That didn't happen with the min-nuke. Where was the pwnage? Overall it's a great effort though and really demands a version 2 with some balance tweaking.
