Pretty Good Alternative...

The Megadev team seems to be fully competent and versatile in making fully developed and well-made flash games. Guitar Geek is a great example of this.

Guitar Geek's graphics and audio were sub-par compared to most flash rhythm games and can easily be compared to the Super Guitar Maniac series. The song selection, although short, consists of satisfying beats and mood. The lack of variety and similar solos in the songs is disappointing though. (The solos on the other hand were pretty nice)

When it comes to extras, Guitar Geek doesn't have any. The only incentive the game has to offer for getting an S on every song is a high spot on the leaderboard, which the top scores look hacked.

Overall, I really enjoyed the gameplay, which was spot-on. If you've played GH or RB or DDR, then you'll have no problem playing this game. However, if you're on a slow computer, you'll suffer lag when the graphics increase during the solo section.

Guitar Geek has potential to be one of the best rhythm flash games on the internet. For now though, it's one of those games that you should try, and one of those games that entertain.

Well made, but...

There as two things a didn't like...

1. You just press the key, you don't strum
When I play GH-games on my computer, I hold my keyboard like a Guitar Hero guitar, with my right hand on the Enter key.

2. Way to easy
I managed to FC (=hitting 100% and no over-strumming) on the two hardest songs on my first try (geek level)
