I can't figure it out!
I don't understand. Whenever I press F9 while my character is selected, it simply says that it can't have actions applied to it. AND WHY DID I MAKE A RECTANGLE!! Please help. And even though I could not understand it, it seems other people did so you get a 8.
Did you turn it into a movieclip? You need to turn it into a movieclip(Select it then press F8), THEN press F9 once it's a movieclip. Read the tutorial carefully.

The code is very well explained and is very noob friendly.
My critisism is that the music stops after a minute or so, and the code looks somewhat messy compared to other platforming engines.
Then again platformers are very messy and you explained the basics.
All in all a very nice tutorial that i strongly recommend to anyone reading this.

please someone help!
i've tried lots of different turorials and all the codes i get for ground don't work! whats wrong? the character just falls straight through. nothing wrong with the gravity he just doesn't stop!
p.s. if it helps answering my problem the character appears to go behind the ground.
