the tutorials great but what program do you use?
Pretty good
Though much of the syntax is now outdated, I found this tutorial to be a wonderful guideline for coding in ActionScript 3.0. Rather than mindlessly copying the code in this tutorial, I had to analyze the author's reasoning behind each line and rewrite it using newer techniques such as event handling. Though the author may not have intended the user to utilize his critical thinking when following this tutorial back when he had written it, I feel it better helps the user learn now that this tutorial is somewhat outdated.
TLDR: This tutorial has ripened with age.

not very helpful, I used my own style for the character, and it animates fine, the gravity script does not work, so i found it useless
