Reviews for "Microbe Kombat"

Very good!

This game is quite enjoyable! I'll try to divide my review into categories below...

Concept: This game is just as the title describes. It's all about fighting to control a small pool of fluid filled with microorganisms. Stay alive long enough to eat proteins and every enemy microbe in sight. You can also reproduce allies by splitting your microbe apart after it gets large enough. All in all, I love this concept. Whoever came up with it is a total genius, seriously.

Graphics: The graphics aren't bad at all. It's neat looking at the various backgrounds this game has to offer. It even looks like microbes are swimming around back there too. The microorganisms are animated well. I enjoy seeing their tiny organelles whip about. The motion of movement is also smooth. I'm very content here.

Sound: I'm not as impressed with the sound effects actually... To be honest, I don't think they all fit. Whenever a microbe eats a protein, it sounds like some warped, space-age farting noise. And the sound of your microbe eating an enemy sounds like a metalic thud. Whenever I hear an eating sound in a game, I always ask myself, "does it sound yummy?" However, I do like the sound that an enemy makes when it eats you. It does sound like what is being eaten is enjoyable. And the music isn't that bad either. It still fits the theme of this game.

Default: I'm a bit unsatisfied with this game's diversity. A good game like this could use more than four enemy microbes and one player microbe. The viruses added a nice little touch, but still... I wish this game had...more of everthing. No game is perfect, and this game is no exception. While the backgrounds were nice, they were reused a little. Why not add different types of proteins? Or different types of viruses? Or maybe even add neutral microbes that just swim around for no reason? But diversity aside, I'm also a little unhappy with the microbes. While they did have little whip-like organelles, I was hoping to see....more. Some microbes are more fluid looking, and not so solid. Why not make a character...jellowey? I didn't really like the virus design either, but that's just me.

Conclusion: I really like this game. Please make another!! And if you do, remember, more is good. More is really good. Make me eat my words next time when I play Microbe Kombat2!!

HeroInteractive responds:

Hey chewtoy. Awesome comment. Seriously, I'm impressed with your use of the word "organelle." Not many people who leave us reviews get as scientific as you, but we really appreciate you breaking it all down like that. As per the sound effects, I guess we were thinking that what a microbe eats isn't necessarily "yummy" so it has more of a primal earthy sound, like the very basic metals and minerals being chomped on. Thank you so much for your review. We're not planning a MK2 right now, but if we ever do anything with it in the future we'll be coming right back to this review to see what we can improve on. Thanks again.

awesome

the funny is that it like biology in school lol

very impressed

I really liked it. It's just about as good as this kind of game can get. It's addictive and fun, and also you can complete it so it's not like you play for ages and it gets impossible by the end. It's hard, but you can win it, so you've got the right balance.
Well done :-)!
