Reviews for "The Rise of a KING"

Great until...

It was a great game until i had so much money and was running threw the forest and 2 thiefs came at me and they attacked in complete synce and it didnt let me move or or fight and i died leaving me with no cash and back to bad armor. It had my 10 until that. 8/10

SeethingSwarm responds:

Oops. Well, I guess it can be upsetting to die in a game. Thanks for the 8 anyway, appreciate it!

decent

my main complaint is the speed, moving around felt slow and tedious, but besides that it was good

SeethingSwarm responds:

Cool, thanks!

Got bored early.

I applaud the visuals and audio, but the amount of dead space and walking through that dead space would bore players easily. I'm a lazy guy, so I couldn't even make it out the castle before giving up. 5 minutes should easily have led me to a battle if you're not about to show me pretty action stuff for all of said 5 minutes.

SeethingSwarm responds:

Yeah you're right. I had my reasons why I kept you in the castle until you have spoken to some "key" people and I wish I could have made the beginning a bit more action-packed. I knew some people would find it dreary and boring, but like I said, I had my reasons, mostly technical coding reasons...

Nice game

I had fun playing this game. I liked how it was mostly non-linear, but it could've maybe used some more side-quests, more items/spells, and a minimap. I know there was a map, but the minimap should be for whether you're going up or own, which path goes where etc. The game was also quite short.

Maybe a teleportation spell or a horse would be better, because walking from place to place just took too long. Also, there needs to be a way to kill the ghosts in the caves - maybe a charm or holy sword or spell. It wasn't really fair how it was nearly impossible to get away from them

On top of those, the game was fun to play.

SeethingSwarm responds:

The ghosts can be killed with fire or lightning, or you can just jump over them...
Glad you liked the game!

Good game man, a few suggestions though

My only complaint is having to run back and forth to the castle, it got quite irritating. Maybe an option where you can teleport back to the castle after a mission is completed. Another suggestion is to make multiple save points at the inns of each town. Otherwise it was a pretty solid game that lived up to The Rise of a Knight.

SeethingSwarm responds:

Thanks!
I would have loved to add an auto save feature, unfortunately my programming skills are not that good yet. This was the first time I have ever tried to make a save feature in a game EVER. I'm just glad it works. I should have made locations closer to each other, or that portal system sounds like a good idea as well, cuz many people have complained about the tedious travelling.
