Good for absolute beginners.
..But bad for making a real game.
1) place the code into *.as files
2) learn how organise the main cycle, where all the objects should be updated
3) NEVER (!!!) use hitTest, write your own collision detection system (or use the existing opensrc one)
There isnt 1 set way how to code games... People have different styles, i have seen amazing games with codes on the MC..
And hittest can work if you can use it right, (fancy pants used hittests)
