Reviews for "StarBaron - Skirmish"

wow this game!

if you fix a couple of kinks, id love to lose a couple of long hours to this game..
-AI is too strong, even at level 1, maybe make them slower at deciding where to go
-selecting stars is cumbersome with box, and i frequently send the wrong ships to -the wrong stars, even end up playing pingpong with myself trying to give stars qualities
-clear up $, and what its used for
**id love to see upgrades for ships, even, bigger better ships
- u could have "specials" where off screen ships arrive for backup
-have a home star (perhaps?) creates defend-flag format, not so chaotic, reminds me of othello
-don't quite understand the shaded auras of stars

dont make redundant techno for background music, surprise us with unique soundtrack :)

Hi savagecookies,

Off-screen ships arriving for backup is a great idea - I'll work that into the upcoming campaign release. Thanks for that!!

The $ is an economy star, the more economy you have in your empire, the higher max ships you can have

The aura's represent the stars efficiency, when a star changes hands, its efficiency drops to 0 temporarily - meaning you may have to hold a star with ships a while until it can look after itself.

Thanks!

Very fun

Very fun and very nice concept, but it's daftly hard. I cannot even defeat a single enemy on a difficulty of 1. I'll keep trying, though.

Fun and entertaining game.

I keep finding myself coming back to play this in my spare time. It's fun and the face that the maps change is a bonus for replaying. I'll be most likely playing several times tomorrow.

Though with others, I would have all/ most of my stars change to another type. Which tended to be bad, considering it was just at the time the enemy would launch their assault or I needed defense. I couldn't imagine what this would be like if it were multiplayer, though the word awesome would probably come to mind.

Advice for dealing with the enemys star in last defense mode. Use the star next to it and build a mine field. The mine field will destroy all the defenses and then use all your ships to launch an assault after swiching the mine field to something more friendly for your ships.

wowoww

thats an amazing game...kept me entertained for hours

one thing tho..wen u have more than one enemy they seem to gang up on you and not worry bout others...?they should attack each other as well

Addicting!

I love it! Played it one first difficulty and won... then played on second and lost rather quickly... then tried again on second and almost lost at the beginning but made a hell of a comeback and ruled the galaxy!

I can't believe this is only a Beta!!! This was perfect as is... but please don't make the full version too complicated. Once you add ship upgrades and different tiers of specialized stars (like Defence lvl 1, lvl 2, etc) then it's impossible to catch back up once you've fallen behind. And you have to be constantly checking the menus and thinking "is it the right time to buy this upgrade? should I buy this or this? Are the upgrades balanced or is there one that will help me out of this particular situation?"

It may seem like a boring idea to you, but I suggest that if you want to add upgrades and tiers, etc, you should make them automatically affect all players depending on game time. As I said before, your game is perfect as is. Adding visual changes periodically throughout the game will make it more visually appealing and will keep people's interest longer. Even if you don't technically have to "work" for the upgrades, they are your reward for simply staying alive.

Honestly, think about it, the only complaint that people have is that it is too hard. Would you want to increase the complexity of the game by forcing people to micromanage? That will only increase the number of complainers. Give them the micromanagement for free but show them the progress, and they will be more interested.
