wow!

Very very beautiful!!

VGSongbird responds:

Thank You ^_^

I dont know what to say

I mean cmon like the other 1 thousand people say....its beautiful you're amazing man this feels so magical. And of course Latin makes it sounds waaaaay better. So im kinda speechless so just read what everyone else says as a review and I ditto it. :)

VGSongbird responds:

Lol that's sweet of you to reiterate :D
In all seriousness though, thanks for the review.

Same excellence I've come to expect from you

I always love hearing your pieces with your vocals in them, and always love your Zelda pieces. So while it's always a pleasure to find a new song from you is out, this one was a special treat. It definitely does the piece justice, and more. I'm definitely curious as to what the lyrics are and what they translate to, however. I think it'd be awesome to actually hear this performed. Though of course, it might be hard to find voice talent on par with what we're listening to here. Especially a whole chorus and two soloists, haha. But seriously, great singing. You've got a great voice to go with your great composing skills. That said, I suppose the ending could do with a little tweaking with the dynamics. The vocals give way, leaving just the softer instrumental part behind, and it feels like the piece is ending, but then the strings intensify, and then it just ends...I dunno it seemed a little strange to end like that. It's still a pretty good ending though, as far as endings go. Those are just my thoughts on it. Anyway, excellent job, as always. Not to overdo the praise or anything, but I'm with the guy below me. I think you'd be a solid choice as a composer for a Zelda game. There's not too many people I'd trust with my favorite video game franchise's music, but you've never disappointed me before.

VGSongbird responds:

Thank you for this wonderful review.
I agree with you about the ending strings--but the problem was not in my idea. I just couldn't get them to be softer because they're synth strings. I haven't had the problem before with my other pieces, but you could REALLY hear it in this one. So I apologize.

I would LOVE to do this piece with an actual choir--even expanded it to be a full voice choir with men and women. A women can dream I suppose...

Perfection in form.

Being a huge fan of windwaker, I have been dying to hear your take on "Medli's Awakening" (which is what I believe this is based off, definitely sounds like it to an ExacT) since you announced it (I HAZ TEH PM) and Let me tell you that I am insanely impressed on several levels. The Vocals are spot on with the Actual song, perfectly adapting it to what I have come to call "E-Birdy style" because of your wonderful works.

If I could go into WW and replace "Medli's awakening" with this song, I would. As I said before, the vocals are top notch, the subtle harp in the background doesn't interfere with the choir and the Piano played gives that Zelda feel to the piece as its rare to hear a Zelda melody without piano SOMEWHERE in it.

I love how near the end it builds up to the great climax then ends with the Subtle piano playing the theme's beat. I can also see where you get the title as some might think that somebody died and the song is playing because of it. I know nobody but Laruto herself died (cause shes a ghost during the scene).

Personally, I would have loved to hear a longer finale where it built up for a little longer or when it died down to the final piano solo it picked back up for the big finish from the choir. But I can't complain.

Thank you for such a wonderful Piece, truly one of your best. Now to wait on your Super Mario Galaxy mix. :D

Vocals: 10/10
Harp: 10/10
Piano: 10/10
Length: 10/10
Personal Experience: 10/10
Finale: 9/10
Overall: 59/60 - Why isn't this at the top of the Newgrounds Music Ratings? It deserves it so bad! Along with a job as lead music designer for Nintendo's Zelda team :D

VGSongbird responds:

Lol now THAT would be a dream job :D
I would've loved to extend the piece a bit longer as well, but working with it I got a sense of repetition, since the melody line is only a few measures and I didn't want to change too much.
I'm also filled with nostalgia to see you using a format of review similar to the kind I used to use. I should really make a habit of doing that again; I've been so lazy lately.

More works on the horizon--including that Galaxy remix. Hope you'll enjoy them as much as you enjoyed this one ;)

Perfect.

This defines beautiful on so many levels, there's no words for it. One hell of an incredible job is all I can say. Hope this gets more attention, it certainly deserves it.

Thank You. It's nice to hear that you believe this submission deserves attention.
