Reviews for "Cursor Quest"

A Bit Original :)

Hey! Saw this game on the front page, it looked really interesting :) and it is!!!
I like the concept, you did a good job in creating and programming this game, but there's still room for improvement. Why not add powerups or something? Something to give variety to the old cursor :P The boss fights were relatively easy, they always do the same pattern of attacks, if you can randomize their moves, it would be more interesting :) (and more challenging)
I'm currently at level 5 (final level) and I am having trouble with those cursors that activate and release an almost unavoidable shockwave :( any tips on how to get pass that?

blue-mess responds:

Hi! First off, thanks for the great review
Secondly, those are "guard cursors" if you like - when you see them, they are sleeping, but when you approach them they wake up and start attacking you. The best way to get around them is to stay well away from them unless it is necessary

Thanks, I'm glad to see you're enjoying it ;D

OK...

The game is OK, but sometimes is not very clear how the cursor must avoid the dangerous things, and what exactly hurts and whats not.
The worst thing in the game is we cant turn off the music and the sounds, wich is something very important in this games.
(sorry about my english, it's not my natal language)

blue-mess responds:

Hmm.
I was intending to put a slider to control the music volume, but I really wanted to release it soon. Unfortunately, I never put in this feature. In contrast, I hand-picked every music track which appealed to me, so that people would want to listen to the music anyway. Thanks for the review!

Nice but...

The bosses take years to die and you cant see your mouse (but can still lose health :S), so I died after I killed a boss... It would be perfect if It was a little more user-friendly and if the level transition was faster.

Anyway, keep up the good work ^^

blue-mess responds:

Cool!
Hmm you mean like more in favour of the player? I'll definitely consider that. Yeah, unfortunately a few of the bosses did take a while to kill, but they were mainly the easier ones.
Thanks for the good review ^^

It was Ok

I give it a 6 because I could tell you put alot of effort into it.
But for me, I felt confused half the time because I didn't know half the time what to collect and what to avoid. Plus, I couldn't figure out how to beat the bosses.
Nice job though

blue-mess responds:

Thanks,
did you read the in-game instructions? they can explain a little bit.
To beat the bosses you just have to wait until they become tired and find their weak spot to attack them

great game....

i liked this game, alot. It was really fun.
The Good:
-it wasn't another repetative, "Seen it a million times" maze game
-it supplied a good challenge even without walls
-it was pretty fun
-the enemies were all really good

The Bad:
-Sometimes, when i'm moving on to a new area of the stage i'm on, it will toss me right onto an enemy(you know, when the screen moves to the next side)

blue-mess responds:

Hmmm I know what you mean about landing straight onto an enemy. I tried to minimize that by making it so that enemies can only hurt you when the level has fully moved onto your screen but it sounds like it's still an issue.

Haha - thanks, I tried to make it a little more origional by adding a twist to the whole "Mouse Avoider"-style games, glad to see you liked it.

Ty for the review
