This really isn't bad for a first effort at cartooning. I have to ask why you would sit around and do absloutely nothing until the girl of your dreams returns :P
I'm sure that you've learned the important lesson now - get an in-car charger for your phone, or learn to charge it up before going to wait at an airport. The Audio commentary was brilliant as an addition for this piece.
With more practice, your drawing style will improve - I'd suggest that you zoom in to get better control of your drawing tools - when you zoom back out, it doesn't look so rough around the edges. Still, like I said at the start, it's not bad at all for a first try.
I'm sure that your next project will have smoother animation and that as you carry this on, you'll learn so much more and find this a very fulfilling hobby.

Emotional.
I liked this flash, it seemed sad at first but ended happily and lovingly, Its not bad for your first submission and once you work on certain aspects of your flash making, your movies will be much better. I liked this though and you captured the emotional aspect of the piece extremely well.
Graphically it was ok, for a first flashthe graphics were good, and i suggest just drawing things in flash to get better with your artistic skills. The colouring in the flash was amazing, its not the fact that you used greyscale (used to great effect) but its the dashes of colour you put in, the circles on the calender, and the colour of the flower. These really made the simple style of the piece stand out alot.
The animation wasnt bad, but once again maybe practice on short flashes that you dont submit, just to enhance your skills. Because in this the animation was a bit stiff.
The sound was good, a nice slow melody helped capture the emotional tension throughout it, and the lack of sound effects is something i only noticed once the movie was over, which means you didnt need to have them as the backing audio does it all.
Overall i liked this, however i had to watch the flash twice to catch what was written on the note hat his girlfriend left him, as it moves across the screen too fast. This is a very good flash despite the simple style and still animation, because the back story and emotion in it are so good and are captured so well. Very Good.

It's certainly good for your first submittion and early flash, I'll give it that but there is still some work to be done on the animation and drawing side of things, some parts look okay but others kind of off a little. The layout of the animation and menu was pretty good though, so nice work on that and the sound was clear, but in the last part, you have an error with the calander, it's missing an x, be careful when reusing images, lol.
The point behind it seemed to be more of something between a certain amount of people, it did make sense but without the commentry, it does seem a little confusing at the opening bit and the note would be better if it stayed in one place for a while for people to read it, kind of hard to read something moving fast. But otherwise, a pretty decent effort.
