Great game but...
it can improve!
#1 you need to let the person move faster in towns or at least be able to click on a building to see what its inventory holds.
#2 make a minimap for the battles! i spent 30 minutes looking for the ship!

Nice, but could use improvement
Overall, a pretty good game to waste time with, and definitely has a lot of potential.
As others have said, though, the ships you fight tend to get off screen and take forever to find again. Either programming their AI so that if they're off screen they go towards you or just putting arrows at the edge of the screen to give you a gist of where to go would fix this pretty well. The combat in general got a little dull, but the overall engine for it was pretty awesome.
More features would also be nice. Personally, I'd really like to be able to customize my ship beyond buying new ones and getting the best of three kinds of cannons. I especially wish improved sails for speed and maneuverability were available.
Taking over towns feels really pointless. Perhaps make it so once they're yours they pay you tribute every month, proportional to the size of the town.
It has potential.
The gameplay is bland. While you have tried to copy Pirates!, you took only the bare-bone features. There's very little to do outside of battle. There's no trade, no fun mini-quests or wives, just sailing around, hoping to find an opponent.
The ship fights themselves are frustrating. Sometimes, they sail away and you have to spend half an hour finding the opponent. The AI has no tactics, it simply goes in circles, spamming round-shot. No fun there.
The camera is horrible. Sometimes, you're sailing into the edge of the screen, unable to see anything in front of you.
It also seems like ships, shot, men, etc don't matter at all in combat, only the range of the cannon.
The isometric pixel art is an interesting choice, though, and the overall look is very good.
I'm sorry, this game has a lot of potential, but it's just not cutting it.
