Reviews for "DevilSlayer V-1"

great flash

I think it's got great potential, n I can tell that it's just gonna keep gettin better too. NG does get a little laggy, and I'm SO glad to see something good that's not random or confusing with a bunch of dumb jokes for ratings. I agree with MOA-OZZY too

keep it up love!

JazLyte responds:

Thanks! I worked really hard on it, so I hope so. 'Preciate it!

finaly

this is the type of flash style animation i like
black people white people
good grafics
good voices
good effects
good everything but i dont fink your gonna finish this because its going to take you too long
i bet you've seen boondocks
this is a nigro/n***a animation love it and yes im black
im not bien racist or anything but 2 many animations with white people

JazLyte responds:

Good look man, I appreciate it! And I know what you mean, but I'm hoping to change that. Thanks for the review!

Sweet shit

Great stuff you got here, you've got talent. The action was really well done and the voice acting was very good as well. The little 3d scene was kind of random though, I'm not so sure it worked so well with the rest. Everything was top notch though, can't wait to see more.

JazLyte responds:

Yeah hehe, first time with 3D, but I'm improving a bit now. Thanks for the review!

You have bright future in flash art!

Incredible! You had original animation, story, and everything else! Your sound was perfect! Overall, Perfect! This is second anime story I've seen with black culture since Afro Samurai and you did very well on it. I like the characters so far and the setting of the story and I hope you have more episodes coming soon! Just try to make the action scenes a little longer next episode. Keep Up the Excellent work!

JazLyte responds:

Thanks, and I will!

On the right track

You've clearly got some good skills with animating, although the 3d interlude when whatshisface was escaping the cell was a little jerky (first time using 3DS Max, I guess?) Anyway, I really like the dialog, the premise is interesting, and I think this has a lot of potential.

There are really only two significant problems with this movie, though they are significant:
1) It's sometimes hard to tell what's happening during fight sequences. Try not to have the camera cut so often, and when you do, make sure we can tell what's going on.
2) There isn't enough exposition of the plot. Everything happens very quickly, and I feel like I'm missing some important details (e.g. What function do the corporate demons ostensibly play, in terms of providing security to society? Is the giant centipede thing only rampaging because the Zephyrs provoked it? Does the government actually round up all the demihumans into a concentration camp as they say they will? Why doesn't anyone resist, and if they do, why don't we see it? Why would they announce that ahead of time--is the public generally distrustful of demihumans, and reassured by their internment in concentration camps? What is a demon doing in whathisface's cell? What is Zephyr Squad, and how are they different from other demihumans?) I could go on, but you get the point. The movie just skips around way too much, leaving too many holes in the storyline.

Of course, this is a blessing too, since it means you still have a lot left to work with in upcoming episodes.

JazLyte responds:

Yup, you caught me lol. It is my first time using using 3DS Max, and you brought up very good points. I wanted there to be an element of mystery with the story. However, I still want people to catch what I am revealing without having to get confused and watch twice, so i appreciate the advice and will most definately work on it. Thanks for the detailed review!
