Reviews for "Strategy Defense"

im confused

the game makes no sense........ how does a sword fire an arrow????? and why in hell were they using bows and swords when they have guns, explosives, and fricken mortar?im very confused.....

Good game, but with quite a few problems.

This was a good game. However, the difficulty curve is pratically crazy.
At chapter 1, it was easy. Get a good position, and attack.
In chapter 2, it was about the same, except abit harder.
Chapter 3 is where the game becomes bad. It's pratically forcing you to wait and keep using health almost every 2 turns or so and damaging the enemies only by retaliation. It's simply forcing you to do the same thing over and over again.
Then, in chapter 4, it becomes insanely hard and forces you to spend insane amounts of money to defeat the enemies.

Also, give more infomation about what was going on and where you were.
I, like many other people, could not find the shop initially beacuse the shop only appeared after several missions. You only could access the shop after you clear the village but there was not enough infomation given to say that after the first level, you did not actually clear the village. You only cleared it after several missions.
Also, when I thought that I would be getting the changes soon due to the dialogue, I would actually get the changes much later in the chapter. This was due to a lack of infomation given.

Magic items was useless in the later levels were the enemies had high defense and the magic did not do much.

Also, in the later levels when bigger enemies came out, it was hard to aim the rock magic properly as the units cover up some squares and the cursor would lock onto the square the unit was on. Thus, you could not use the rock magic properly.

Bombs are overpowered. They could kill you in 1 hit in the earlier levels thus forcing you to stay out of the range any enemy that has bombs. This will restrict you to a small part of the map and in some missions, you are forces to change into a knight just to escape from the bombs. Forcing you to waster money.

A major part of the game instead of involving strategy and tatics, simply involves taking the hit and using health and retaliating as the enemies are much more powerful then you and have a longer range. This will defeat the strategy aspect of the game and instead turns it into a boring repeat of steps.

Also, it's hard to have strategy and tatics when you are using only 1 person with nobody else to control as you are heavily restricted. Having more than just 1 person to control with increase the choices that you can make by a huge amount, thus increasing the strategy and tatical element of the game.

i don't know

how to access the shops. There's no "shop" button anywhere.

The graphics are really good, but everything else is kind of slow and boring. I don't see the logic behind random counter attacks, and some opponents get to go twice. It doesn't make much sense.

A very good effort, though.

its alright

not so bad

Very nice...

It's been a while since I've played a game on Newgrounds which was so high quality all across the boards. First off, I really, really like the gameplay style, it reminds me a lot of Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, except One unit against many, and only able to go either verticallly or horizontally during any given movement phase. Also, it was more of a challenge than many of the other defense/RPG games I've played here, but not so much that it became annoying. However, there are a few things you might want to change if you make a sequel/updates. First, the experience gauge needs to be made less simplistic. I understand that doubling the experience needed to uprgrade to each succeeding level is easy, but in the later levels it becomes a bit of a hassle. Second, it does get a bit repetitive after a while, as you still have the same unit (albeit in various forms) with just beefed-up versions of the same power-ups. Other than that, this game is amazing. Keep up the good work!
