How melancholy...
Just the way I like it. A very dark and sad story you've created here. I understand this old man did something very very wrong, some great sin or crime of some sort, maybe he caused the death of the child shown in the black and white scene (his child?). There things that show his repentance for whatever it was, like the pamphlets he hands out to people, trying to get the people to understand whether or not they're good enough to gain entry into Heaven, or if they'll fall into the depths of Hell when all is said and done; that seemed like it was an event that bears realization and understanding of what it was he had done wrong and his attempt at reconciling for the sin. It seems that he may have killed himself for some reason (the child's death he caused) by jumping off a bridge, maybe the guilt was too much for him and wanted to be released from it, maybe he thought he might redeem himself with this act. But there are clear and open signs that this may not have been enough to redeem his soul, the man is walking past a large cross and it warps, or falls, or leans away from him as he moves past it, like it's rejecting him, forsaking and shunning his presence. And of course the final scene, with the blinking "up" arrow showing that his fate is not for sure, or certain, that his crimes will weigh heavy upon his judgement.
Amazing art, amazing concept, nice insertion of a moral message (even if it may not be what I belive it to be), and it shall keep me pondering for a while.
