Reviews for "Pattern"

impressive work

Very nice work. Love the curves of the guitar body, but for some reason the detail on the output jack seems so photographic even close up that it just draws my eye. Really great work.

Awesome

Just awesome! 8D

Whoa..

At first, I wasn't impressed because I thought this was a photograph. This is some incredible work you have here. The detail that you have clearly took some time. All the colors and the reflective light are all perfect and really make this feel real.

Great work, amazing craftsmanship.

Thank you very much.

the texture

in these pretty realistic drawings you're pulling off you nail it all VERY WELL. it's just that the colored pencil texture that resides makes it look less real. I guess that's the sacrafice made. anyways beautiful job, the pattern is great, and i like how the focus is on the details up close rather than EVERYTHING in the image (the amp).

only thing that stands out to me is that the whole picture plane is off. it could have been the way you made it digital, but the grain in the floor and the amp are both at a slant. if you did that on purpose, its fine but it seems like it was a mistake when it's that minor of a slant.

otherwise i know you put a great detail into the pattern and reflections, so good work. good luck getting it back from the AP judges, i'm sure you'll be fine (let's hope the drawing is in good condition as well)

Bit-Master responds:

I never thought the colored pencils to be limiting, as every other medium I've used has limited me more so, but you are right. They can't make a perfectly real image. After a while, though, super-realism in art is a lost cause. Digital cameras and top days of tireless work in seconds. In short, I personally like the pencil texture.

The picture plane thing is off, but in my defense the guitar on the stand was probably off and I decided to line up with that when I took the reference shot. </excuses>

The AP judges were kind enough to give it back without a scratch, and it's soon to be hanging up right in my room. Thank you for the very detailed and positive review.

Im a guitarist and an artist

The pickup on the guitar looks like I could just lift it from my screen its so realistic good job 5.00 :D

Bit-Master responds:

I appreciate the support. Keep playing guitar and doing art, it's an awesome mix.
