Pretty good
This was a very interesting flash. I loved the artistic value of the characters. They have the characteristic of a family. They have a their conversations but can also fight. The only thing that I didnt like was that it kinda dragged. But other then that it was pretty good.

A lot of people are telling you to add color, when I think the lack of it made it stand out more. One of the worst possible things to have done would have been to add voice acting, especially with the simple artstyle, because it wouldn't go well together. Each character had its own traits and personalities, so I felt like I knew them even though this is the first time I've seen them. It was great, though I feel if I get to chatty, I'll seem like that art critic in your movie short "Apples".
That "Apples" reference took me by surprise! Don't worry about rambling; that art critic character was based on a number of people, myself included.
Yeah, the feedback about color has been interesting to read. I've duly noted all the requests for voices as well. Eventually I'd like to work on an animation with voices, because it's another medium to play with. It might even be fun to for these characters to suddenly have audible voices, in another episode. But for this particular animation, don't think I'll use voices.
I don't know if I'm going to use this much dialogue in an animation again, though! Radios and books, I figure, have a licence to use a lot of dialogue; but movies and animations have a lot more to play around with.
("Apples" would have probably been silent, except I was required to put in some kind of dialogue)

It was nice, I really enjoyed it... However, with a little bit of background music (not only when something happens) this animation could improve. I really liked the movement and all, it was actually nice. If you could also make their mouths move, it would be better. (Although... Then you would have to put voices... Nah, it's better with no voices, and no mouth-moving.) Just make some changes, and it's good-to-go..! XD
Story regarding this-- I tried animating mouths opening and closing, and sometimes it worked, but sometimes it felt weird! I don't know why. I suspect these characters are in some alternate version of reality where they don't use voices, they actually do use floating words or something.
Interesting
That movie was pretty interseting. Although, what the hell was the gilled creature and the flying sqirel? Also you could add some color to ure flashes to make them stand out more. And I luv when the bird lost his temper and yelled lol. Another thing that got interesting was that the group got into a real nerd-like talk.....( just to tell you, most people dont like that kind of stuff on newgrounds..... but I think it was pretty good^_^)
Some people I know had the exact same response to Books and Sparks. One friend kept pointing at the screen and said, "Yeah, but what's that floating otter-squirrel thing?"
