Reviews for "BoM Beat Battle"

Once in combat, the game does not respond to my keyboard commands.

don't get me wrong

don't get me wrong. the concept of this game was excellent, but the gameplay, i thought, was terrible. Youroppenent seemed to know just which move to use, or to guard with. you would try and do a lower guard and POOF! he shield throws and kills you. or your ready to do an all-powerful fireball, but, sun of a gun, he guards just right. i think this game would have been a lot (LOT) better if each character had 1 attack phase, and 1 defense phase per turn. I hated defendinmg every 5 seconds.

No Saving...

Its a good game but WAY too hard! Other than that pretty good but needs a save feature. Godd job, ish. :-P

Right, might aswell

A lack of characters and arenas, the latter of which is rather useless since to my experience you have to have detachable eyes to make this game atleast somewhat strategical. You simply can't keep track of what move your enemy is trying to pull off while trying to counter that.
If you tried to base your attacks and counter-attacks on the rhythm of the enemy, it wouldn't work since the move patterns keep changing so there's no hope of memorizing it either. Atleast this game doesn't fall into the category of "randomly smash buttons", but the music element is rather missing.
The AI seems to have a perfect rhytm ear and has the tendancy to copy me. Every single time I've played the game the AI chooses the same character as I do, that isn't a big problem but its somewhat disturbing.
On the multiplayer side I haven't had much of a look yet, but what I've noticed of the control placement then I might aswell have anyone willing to play it with me sit on my lap.
The animation isn't too varied and the background issue (AKA: Arena) has been swiftly dealt with. All in all its a rather stale piece of bread but it kept me nourished for a while (And I'll be damned sure to never use that metaphor again).

Bad

Not done that well...
