Reviews for "AUTOMATON Prt 1"

Not bad...

Great game! To the guy before me, it must just be his connection or computer, because it didn't take more than 1 second to go to inventory.

I liked the concept, but I found it to be very dark on the screen...kind of hard to tell what objects are. Also, I really think it would be better if you could have a skip button for the "story" section.

Great job anyhow, keep up the work!

littleNorwegians responds:

Turn up the brightness on your computer.
There is a skip button. Its in the lower right corner.
And there should be no problem clicking the inventory.
Thanks for the review!
Have a nice day :)

Not bad

Cool idea.
Too slow... click on an item and it takes like 30 seconds to go to your inventory, or move where ever it's going to, I quit after the second level.

Too easy... I only played the first two levels, hard to understand what everything is, but as long as you click everything, you'll eventually get it. ie. Click on glue, then just move your mouse around till you find what to click on. I don't know if it gets harder later on.

Good effort though.

littleNorwegians responds:

There must be an error with your computer because no other people has had the same problem as you. Try again to see if it works.

Thanks for the review.
Have a nice day.

Interesting work. How ever there are already many games like this. Yours does stand out with the style and graphics that you chose to incorporate into your work, but thats only eye candy. The puzzle aspect of this game could be somewhat improved. I like the fact that I do not have to click on every single pixel on the screen to solve the puzzle. However it feels that I search for only a minimal amount of time trying to solve your puzzles. This bores me =/. You could also incorporate the disabling of the tab key in your code fun.

In short: It's aesthetically pleasing, but the basic principle of the game Isn't anything new. Try and incorporate some other elements into these types of games no one has done before.

One thing you could do is disable to the tab key to

You did a good job

But I want to offer you a constructive review.

Good: The graphics, sound, and style were great. Very original, and has a very intriguing storyline (which actually is really the only thing that will hook me enough to play Part 2).

Bad: I'm not sure you can really call this (or Part 0) a real GAME. I mean, the user is left no freedom at all to interact with the environment (hence my reason for giving it a 1) - you are forced to click on things in a certain order. Also, the user is told what to do every step of the way by the scientist. So I honestly can't call this a game - it's just a point and click movie.

To improve on the next one, I would say make the scientist get conked on the head by something and forget how everything works, and that way the user has to figure everything out and lead the scientist around instead of vice-versa. Nice game, nice efforts, but I think if you make these improvements you'll see a lot more support by NG'ers.

Thanks for reading this!

littleNorwegians responds:

Well you see dr-douche, this is a point and click game. I can't give alternate ways because the game would be ENORMOUS!
And the scientist only gives you hints.
Some may find the game hard. Others don't.
You won't always have the professor i promise you that.

I thank your review but keep in mind some people find this hard and others don't.

Have a nice day

Woot! Another "Submachine-Style"-Game

Overall:
Since Submachine I love this kind of gaming, and you made another very great game out of it.

Graphics:
Great self-drawn graphics, especially the Automatons were smooth!

Style:
As said above, I love those "Submachine-Style"-Games. Go on with it!

Sound:
Nice backmusic... But it was the only music in the game. No moving-sounds, no pickup-sounds, etc. still good.

Violence:
No violence.

Interactivity:
Of course these games always have many things to interact with, but in this game, there were too less. Make it more difficult next time.

Humor:
No humor.

littleNorwegians responds:

Thanks for the review!

But i actually didn't know about Submachine until i joined ArcadeTown.

PS: There are lots of easter eggs. Find the boxes (Find the numbers on the boxes and click them) and click the books.
