Reviews for "Grasping for the Wind"

For you:

This piece is amazing. In fact, I am such a fan of your work, I made an account for newgrounds just so I could finally voice my admiration to you. You have a great talent, and I am glad to see it put to such great use. You have my greatest respect

BlazingDragon responds:

Kwatie, thank you so much.

Today has been pretty stressful. My high school graduation is in two months, and the future after that can sometimes seem so hopeless. I have this enormous dream of studying music at the University of Southern California, getting a master's degree at Juilliard, and then going on to compose for films, games, and symphonies. However, that dream seems increasingly impossible the more that I think about it. I don't have a dime to put toward college, and those schools would cost around $40,000 a year. On top of that, I don't know if I can support myself, if I have the talent, etc...

I haven't received a review in a while, and I was getting kind of gloomy thinking about the future. You know what, though? Your review helped me get my mind back where it should be. If even one person out in the world derives some amount of joy or emotion from my music, I have already been successful. After all, music isn't about fame, money, or going to a prestigious school; it's about making other people feel a deeper sense of life, whether it be sadness, joy, or wonder.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It gave me hope. :)

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

WOWY ZOWY COWY POWY reminds me of david neuve. you are really good maybe just ease up on the echo.

BlazingDragon responds:

I wasn't familiar with David Nevue, but I looked him up after reading this review. His music is relaxing and emotional. Thank you for introducing me to some great new material! :)

Nice piano skills.

Despite what critics might say about the song being all over the place. I think thats what makes this song so great, considering the fact you only used a piano.

However, somewhere after the 2 minute mark as the song starts to fade out, it seems as though the gradual silence seemed a bit rushed, since the low notes are faded out almost instantly whereas the high notes faded normally... I don't know if that was intentional or not, but that was the only thing that seemed to stick out in my opinion.

Regardless, This is still an amazing song. Keep up the good work.

BlazingDragon responds:

It was my intention to fade out the low notes at that pace. The section with the low notes is supposed to be "stormy". The storm, however, is supposed to pass just as quickly as it came, like a breeze. I had a specific image that I was attempting to convey, and if I would have kept the low register in use for a longer duration, it would not have contributed to the success of the image's presentation. You have a valid point, though, and I appreciate the honesty. Thank you for reviewing. :)

Aesome!!

It's soo cool sir trevor!! keep it up sir!!

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks for the support. :D

Nice!

i like the concept of your song, as said in the description. the "storm" part sounds great, and this generally has some great piano work. good job, hope to be hearing more of you!

BlazingDragon responds:

I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Thanks for reviewing!
