The melodies are great in this song, and your use of common chord progressions did help make it sound nice..
I just feel something's missing. Perhaps adding some pads will help.
Also, the lead synth sounds soft. Try playing it two notes at a time, one octave in between. This gives a fuller sound.
Overall, nice song. Some mixing will really help this song.

For a first song, it is actually very impressive! I like how you made it loop, and the beat you have throughout the song is catchy enough to get into your head for quite a while.
However, the song feels like more could have been done to it. I'm not really a musician myself so bear with me, my advice is not the best.
It felt like there was plenty of empty space where you could have added more to make the song more impressive. Probably could have included a couple more instruments to fill in that empty space. The melodies were good, but they sounded like they were a little out of place in a few spots, and probably would have been better if you had them last a little longer in some places where it seems like they're just cut off. It makes the song a little choppy.
Just a couple suggestions, I'm not sure if they're good ones or not, but they're there anyway for you to try or ignore. Keep up the good work, there's lots of potential for you to make something to blow everybody away with!

well, I always believed that people had to start at the bottom and work their way up. This song was a very painful punch in the face ~_~. I rated as a song, not a first song. I found it lacked a certain amount of variation, or "landmarks". Very melodic sound that works well with techno.
Are you taking lessons, or figuring it out on your own?(lessons would certainly explain how this song is possible!) I'm in an art school in Vancouver, and this song is better than some of the audio students'!
