I think the only thing you can approve is dragging your melody out just a bit only because certain parts sound a bit choppy but it sounds good other wise, very epic adventure scene feel to it.

The melodies are great in this song, and your use of common chord progressions did help make it sound nice..
I just feel something's missing. Perhaps adding some pads will help.
Also, the lead synth sounds soft. Try playing it two notes at a time, one octave in between. This gives a fuller sound.
Overall, nice song. Some mixing will really help this song.
