Reviews for "Battlefield General"

okay.

it was good, but after a couple levels I got bored of it.

OK

Mudge9 what are you a fucking reporter. Ok off subject but yah. It got boring after awhile but a good concept, not great graphics, fun.

Fun, a good start, with flaws

Fun to play, and a great general idea. The following quibbles
are just in case some of this hasn't been covered.

1. Troops won't listen to movement commands once enemy is
close..... won't resume movement commands when combat is
over.

2. Not told how close General has to be to give advantage to
troops.

3. Can't remove anything from towers

4. Nothing can stand up to a bunch of artillery. No real need
to buy anything else on "easy" level.

5. How different terrain affects movement usually makes sense
except for one thing: units are slow moving in hills, but no
difference between uphill and downhill.

6. In a "search out enemy" mission, there's really no need to
search. The map tell you where they all are, and if you
cruise through with a bunch of artillery, any enemy in the
area come to you.

7. There seems to be no difference in range for cannon or
archers according to their elevation. In reality, a cannon
on a hill could easily take out a cannon on the flatlands
long before the latter could get the enemy in range.

8. Anything other than cannon or archers ought to be able to
fight and move at the same time.

9. Not sure about this, since I didn't spend much time on non-easy
levels, but is the only difference among the levels the amount
of money you have to work with?

Pretty amazing... for flash!

As an experienced Age Of Empires play, I found the game quite enjoyable, you do need allot of strategy skills. I love the fact you can speed up the game, something that comes in handy when you want your cannons to go over one of them hills! You should increase the quality a bit and make a projector out of it. I would be the first to buy! :-)
I will defiantly host this game on my site proudly!
Thanks for the game!

I liked it!

Great game! There are a few indelible mistakes that cause you to start over, like spending too much on your castle/general. Really, you needed neither, although if you were patient your General could be manipulated to boost your army.

I liked the fact that if you made the mistake of buying these types of units and not using them proficiently, your army was overcome and you basically got game over. This game requires strategy, which to a limited degree requires skill. Slow-paced a lot of the time, and with many limitations on borders/obstacles, yet creative use of terrain and environment to hinder enemies, or if you're careless, yourself. You positioned most of your enemy units very well, although if you covered a few strategic points the game became too easy. Lengthy, and at times stagnant, an enjoyable game with many aspects. However, missions took so long that after the first few, this particular gamer feels he's had enough for a little while!

Great idea though, and very well done!
